what is Skelton and what is importance of Skelton in human body and what is it advantage in our body

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 8th Apr, 2020

Shivam, skeleton is a protection to the soft tissues, muscles, tendons and the rest of the body. It is made of bones and joints. The skeletal system provides attachment points for muscles thereby allowing the movement at the joints. The red marrow inside the bone produces new blood cells. An adult body skeletal system is made up of 206 individual bones. These bones can be arranged into Axial skeleton and appendicular skeleton. Without the skeleton system, the body is just like a sponge which has absorbed water. It would have neither a frame nor a structure. The axial skeleton is made up of 80 bones covering the skull, hyoid, auditory ossicles, ribs, sternum and the vertebral column. The upper and lower limbs, pelvic girdle and the shoulder girdle constitute the appendicular skeleton and this is made up of 126 bones. Though the bone itself is a structure, they are of 5 types. Long bones, Short bones, Flat bones, Irregular bones and the sesamoid bones. The bones help in protecting the organs like heart, lungs from damage caused by external forces. They help in movement of joints. The skeletal system also stores quite a few different types of essential substances which facilitate growth and repair of the body.

If the ideal human body temperature is 37C then how come coronavirus attack humans ? Please tell. Since coronavirus cannot survive at more than 25C.

Deepshikha Student Expert 6th Mar, 2020
Hey,
37 degree celcius is thought to be the ideal body temperature. But,in the era of globalization and massive pollution, your body cannot afford to maintain an ideal body temperature. It keeps fluctuating .There are other variables that can affect body temperatures such as age, time of the day, level of activity and also gender.Females are affected by the menstrual cycle during which body temperatures can be slightly higher.
Now coming to corona virus.
See,the doctors across world are working extensively to find the exact cause behind this novel virus and sadly, every new discovery is leading to a new mystery.
The temperature or the body is ideal for corona virus to thrive.
For most patients, COVID-19 begins and ends in their lungs, because like the flu, coronaviruses are respiratory diseases.
All we can do is to take precautions. Every other day,WHO is releasing circulars about the precautionary measures.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.

how many muscles in human body

Atharva Bhombe 21st Dec, 2019

Hello,

First of all what is muscle a muscle is a  band or bundle of fibrous tissue in a human or animal body that has the ability to contract, producing movement in or maintaining the position of parts of the body.

There are basically 3 types of muscles present in human body

1. Skeletal muscles (which moves us) :- Skeletal muscle is a voluntary muscle, which means that we can actively control its function. It's attached to the bone and forms a distinct organ of muscle tissue, blood vessels, tendons, and nerves that covers our bones and allows movement.

2. Cardiac muscles ( which moves our blood ) :-Cardiac muscle also called heart muscle or myocardium.

3. Smooth muscles (which moves our bowels etc. ) :- Smooth muscle fibers are located in walls of hollow visceral organs, except the heart, appear spindle-shaped, and are also under involuntary control.

There are about 700 named skeletal muscles in the human body, including roughly 400 that no one cares about except specialists. There is just one important cardiac muscle. There are literally countless smooth muscles which do the work of the autonomic nervous system, mostly squeezing and squishing stuff in tubes.

Hope this answer is beneficial to you

bones human body discribe and skeleton

Avishek Dutta 11th Dec, 2019

The human skeleton is the internal framework of the human body. It is composed of around 270 bones at birthand decreasesto 206 when adult.. It can be divided into axial skeleton and appendicular skeleton.

The axial skeleton is formed by  vertibral column ( 30 -34 bones) , rib cage ( 12 pair of ribs) and skull ( 22 bones and 7 associate bones) and other bones. It contain 80 bones .

The appendicular skeleton is formed by shoulder gridle, pelvic gridle and bones of upper and lower limbs. It consists of 126 bones

The human skeleton is made up of 206 bones, including bones of the:

  • Skull – including the jaw bone
  • Spine – cervical, thoracic and lumbar vertebrae, sacrum and tailbone (coccyx)
  • Chest – ribs and breastbone (sternum)
  • Arms – shoulder blade (scapula), collar bone (clavicle), humerus, radius and ulna
  • Hands – wrist bones (carpals), metacarpals and phalanges
  • Pelvis – hip bones
  • Legs – thigh bone (femur), kneecap (patella), shin bone (tibia) and fibula
  • Feet – tarsals, metatarsals and phalanges.
  • There are four different types of bone in the human body:
  • Long bone – has a long, thin shape. Examples include the bones of the arms and legs (excluding the wrists, ankles and kneecaps). With the help of muscles, long bones work as levers to permit movement.
  • Short bone – has a squat, cubed shape. Examples include the bones that make up the wrists and the ankles.
  • Flat bone – has a flattened, broad surface. Examples include ribs, shoulder blades, breast bone and skull bones.
  • Irregular bone – has a shape that does not conform to the above three types. Examples include the bones of the spine (vertebrae)  .... Thanks..
