Is IIT HSEE (Madras) online this time?
Hello,
For this year HSEE 2020 entrance exam will be conducted in both online and offline mode. The HSEE 2020 entrance exam will be conducted by the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Madras. IIT Madras will release HSEE admit card 2020 on September 1, in online mode at hsee.iitm.ac.in. To download their HSEE admit card, candidates have to enter their user ID and password. While downloading the HSEE 2020 hall ticket, candidates have to choose the mode (online or offline) in which they wish to take the essay writing part (part II) of the exam.
How many students appear for the HSEE Entance exams. What are the chances for getting through in the HSEE ENTRANCE examination. I heard it is very tough. My daughter is appearing for the entrance scheduled on 9th Sept. I am training her well in Maths, English, GK. Kindly advice

HSEE e trance exam is entrance exam conducted for admission to 5 years integrated MA course.
It is rescheduled on September 9, 2020
The test will be in two parts
Part 1 will have mcqs . For which candidate must prepare English , mathematics, General knowledge , economics
Part two will have essay type questions.
If your daughter prepares well , then she won't get any difficulty. However it's entrance exam so it will not be so simple.
Tip for preparation - practice STD x and xii maths.
For general knowledge and economics reading news paper regularly will be beneficial .
For English focus on Grammer skills

What are the overall maths topics in CLAT, AILET and HSEE ?
For CLAT, Mathematics comes under Quantitative Techniques section. And this section includes short set of facts or prepositions, graphs, or other textual, pictorial or diagrammatic representations of numerical information followed by a series of questions. You need to apply 10th standard mathematical operations on ratios and proportions, basic algebra, mensuration and statistical estimation.
For AILET, There will be 10 questions from Mathematics Section.
- Mensuration: Areas and Volumes
- Commercial Mathematics: Interest, Profit, Loss and Discounts, Percentage, Partnership
- Modern Mathematics: Permutation and Combination Probability, Clocks and Calendars
- Data Interpretation: Graphs and Charts
- Arithmetic: Number Syaytem, H.C.F and L.C.M, Logarithms and Functions, Fractions and Decimals, Rots and Indices, Simplification, Ration and proportions, Time and Work, Average.
For HSEE, you need to prepare on topics like Numbers, Algebra, High Common Factor and Lowest Common Multiple, Calendar, Basic Statistics, Profit and Loss, Percentages, Simple and Compound Interest, Work and time, Discount, Age, Sums, Linear Equations, Elementary Trigonometry, Data Interpretation, Analytical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, Brain-teasers and patterns.

The minimum marks required to qualify in HSEE is different for different categories.The result will be declared on May 15.The minimum percentage required to be on the merit list is given below :
General - 50%
SC/ ST /PwD- 25%
OBC NCL - 45%
