You can opt for IAF in the following ways-
Number 1: Direct entry through NCC.(PERMANENT COMMISSION)
If there is Air NCC in your college, you can join it and try to get a 'C' Certificate.
If you get one, you'll be eligible for direct entry and you'll go direct for your SSB. No written exams.
Also you'll have get a great exposure there and you will also get a chance to fly in the cockpit .
Number 2: CDS Exam(PERMANENT)
After completing your graduation or in the final year you can apply for CDS, clear it, give your SSB, then medicals, You know the rest right!
Number 3: AFCAT(Short Service Commission)
After doing your graduation you can give AFCAT(Air Force Common Aptitude Test) and the rest remains the same as CDS.

Dear student,
There are so many job sources after completing this degree. Since you are a Bcom graduate, you can join only army through CDS. For Air force, you have to AFCAT and for Navy you have to apply for ground duty jobs like logistics.
Thank You.

Dear Manali,
Girls can join the IAF only through AFCAT after your graduation. There is still a possibility of entry through NCC if you hold a 'C' certificate.
You can also apply after your BTech. With your BTech, you would be eligible for Technical branch (depending on your specialisation in BTech) or for the Flying branch as well.
Feel free to put down your queries in the comment section.
what is the eligibility and critera if in future i want to be in iaf.
Greetings, aspirants!
IAF or Indian Air Force provide opportunities for candidates in multiple ways. Depending on the department you wish to join, there are several ways to join the IAF. These departments include:-
- Flying Branch (further divded into fight pilot branch, helicopter branch and transport branch)
- Ground Duty (technical) Branch which consists of control tower operations and coordination with pilots
- Ground Duty (non technical) Branch which consists of Administration, Education, Logistics and Medical fields.
You can apply to be a part of the IAF after you pass your 10th grade, 10+2, graduation or post graduation as well.
There are various posts in the Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) varying from cooking and stenography to mechanics and content assistance. Candidates that have finished their 10th or 10+2 can apply for these posts.
A candidate can also join the IAF through the National Defence Academy (NDA) by passing their qualifying examinations and interviews conducted by the UPSC.
A graduate can appear for the CDS (Common Defence Services) test held by the UPSC. Besides, there's also AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test) through which candidates can apply and join the IAF. After a candidate is selected in this test, they undergo a year of training until they're posted as officers.
A Post graduate can join ground duty branches as well. In these cases having a degree in Aeronautical Engineering tremendously reflects on their job profile.
Apart from these conventional methods, one can join the IAF through NDC or National Cadet Corps as well. In order to do so, one must finish their training with at least a C grade in the air wing of NCC.
Hope this information helped you!
Best of luck!!
How much marks is required in gate 2021 (aerospace engineering) for general category to get job in DRDO or IAF?
hi,
see cutoff score changes every year and it depends on certain factors like number of participants, questions difficulty level, seat matrix, number of vacancy comes , students category etc, drdo shortlisted candidates based on gate score , which follows by interview in selection of different position as per the eligibility of candidates, since aerospace engineers job is limited in India, your rank should be under 50, try to score above 80 to secure a decent rank.
