I got 71.4% in 10th class and 69.4% in 12th class . So , according to this score after scoring 99 percentile in CAT , which IIMs calls can i expect ?
Hello,
You can get an interview from IIM with 99 percentiles in CAT but following are some criteria which need to be fulfilled before converting IIM.
You must have 50% or more in your graduation
Not just with 99 percentiles in CAT, but after the CAT score shortlisting, Aspirants need to go through one more stage that is WAT/GDPI and then the calculation of composite score (these are calculated on basis of various parameters like CAT score, graduation score, 10 th and 12 th grade marks, WAT GDPI marks, Academic diversity (candidates from non-engineering background are given extra points), gender diversity, and work experience). The weights allotted to each of the above-mentioned parameters varies for each IIM and the composite score is also calculated by each IIM individually and then the final selection is made.
Hope It helps
All the best
Regards
What are the ideal percentiles for iims and fms, OBC fresher male, non engineer, 95%+ in 10th&12th above 7GPA Grad.
Your academics are pretty decent, although your score in graduation is slightly less but you may compensate it with Xth, XIIth and the score of your Common Admission Test percentile.
Within the OBC quota, if you get 99+ percentile, you'll easily get a call from all the top IIMs like Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Calcutta. Moreover, if you cross 98+ percentile, then you'll definitely get a call from Kozhikode and Lucknow.
So, in all you are in an advantageous position and should try to get as much percentile as you can in CAT. Hope I have answered your question. All the best!
Is a pharmacy graduate have an advantage over general engineering graduate or they come under GEM for IIMs ? do i have a chance to get IIM ABC with 90 plus percent in graduation, 94 percent in 10 and 79 percent in 12 if i m a b pharm students
Hello Rohan,
Hope you are going great!
To answer your question, you do not come under GEM (General, Engineer, Male) category, as you are a pharma student.
And obviously, you do have a change to get into IIM A/B/C, with good extra-curricular, and co-curricular. IIM's are trying to diversify, and you do stand a chance to get into them.
Best of luck!
I am GEM with 13 months of work ex and 91/81/78 academic profile with decent enough extra currics. What are my chance of getting into top IIMs and other premier b-schools (FMS,XLRI,MDI, etc)
Hello Ram,
Hope you are doing well !
In answer to your question, I think that you have a pretty good chance to get in the top IIM's, and the premier B-schools in India. Though, your CAT score and your performance in GD-PI play a pretty important role in the process.
Other than that, I think that you have a pretty decent profile.
Hope my answer was helpful.
Wish you Best of Luck !
How good is the profile 95/78/84 for IIMs for getting into consulting or banking shortlists during placements? Is it average or below average?
See, your class Xth percentage is very good, but your XIIth percentage is a bit problematic, and your grad is avergae. See, consulting companies look for 'spikes' in your resume. Now, these spikes may be your academics, your past experience, your extracurricular achievements, and things like that. So, even though you have average profile in academics, but if you have some 'spikes' to show, it won't be a problem.
Hope I have answered your question. All the best!

can I get into top iims if my class 12th and 10th board percentage is not good
Hello Aspirant,
Yes you can get but it depends on that what score you have obtained in 10th and 12th because if it is average but you outperform in your graduation and in CAT as well then it can be compensated but if you 10th and 12th score are very poor then it would be little bit difficult for you but still you have chances depending upon your graduation and CAT score and if you gain some work experience then it would be beneficial for you.

Good Luck!!
Respected sir/maam, Ive an academic profile of 8/8/6 (10th, 12th, graduation respectively) so my query is that with this kind of academic background would I be able to convert top B schools and IIMs if I take the CAT exam? Im a general non engineer female with no work experience.
Hello aspirant,
YES, you can definitely crack CAT exam, if you have the ability and determination to do so. Your class 10th and 12th marks don't matter. Only matters is your determination and hard work in giving the CAT Examination.
To be eligible in CAT Exam : the candidate has to pass at least their Bachelor's degree with at least 50% (for General Category and for candidates from the NC-OBC caste) . For SC/ST and Differently Abled (DA) candidates, the percentage required is 45%.
Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) category candidates need 45% marks in graduation . Candidates in final year of Graduation are also eligible to apply for CAT 2021. Candidates who have completed professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA) with 45% marks.
Further, if you wish to know more about the Eligibility criteria of CAT exam, then you can follow the below mentioned link : https://bschool.careers360.com/articles/cat-eligibility-criteria
Further, if you wish to crack CAT and want to get admission in top B schools or IIM, then you can follow the below mentioned steps to know more :

-
Practice as much as you can and go for mock tests.
-
-
Reading as much as possible is the best way to crack this section and score good marks.
-
-
Go through newspapers, journals, blogs, articles, etc to enhance your reading skills.
-
Try solving questions based on comprehension, inferences, and para jumbles. Candidates can join any private tuition or take CAT coaching and prepare from the foundational booklets provided to them.
-
-
-
Considered to be one of the toughest section in CAT exam, needs a lot of hard work to be done from the candidate’s side.
-
Check the previous year's question papers of CAT and try to re-attempt those questions.
-
Try to study basic topics like seating arrangements, blood relations, syllogisms, etc to grip hands on this section. Do no use a calculator while solving questions.

I hope that this will help.
i got 93.1 percent in class 10 , 96 Percent in my graduation but only 79 percent in my class 12. Do i stand a chance to get admission in IIM ABC , old iims? considering a b pharmacy graduate ( not a GEM).
Dear aspirant,
As you have scored well in class 10th and 12th so you would get full points after cracking cat in your interview round. So, as per my view you need to score atleast 97-98+ percentile in your cat .
However various factors are considered while deciding the cut offs like -
- Number of candidates appearing in the examination.
- Number of vacant seats in college.
- Previous years cut offs.
- Difficulty level of the paper.
