Hi,
Every IFS officer gets 30 days of Earned Leave + 8 days of Casual Leave + 2 days of Restricted Holiday leave when in India and when abroad in addition he gets 15 days of extra leave.
The Officer with family can visit India twice in a term of 3 years posting generally on Government expense with some exceptions like in some of the non-family stations he can visit every year.
Yes he can avail of study leave to attend such seminars or any training while continuing to draw the salary. Study leave can be availed of in India as well as abroad for a total of 2 years in the entire service of the Officer.

The salary of IFS officers depends upon the ranks which are discussed as follows:(These are mentioned from lowest to highest ranks)
- JUNIOR TIME SCALE - work as Under Secretary and basic pay is INR 8000 TO 14000.
- SENIOR TIME SCALE - work as Under Secretary and basic pay is INR 10650 to 16000.
- JUNIOR ADMINISTRATIVE- work as Deputy Secretary and basic pay is INR 12750 to 17000.
- SELECTION GRADE - work as Counselor Director and basic pay is INR 15100 to 18000.
- The officer at Senior administrative level will join as Joint Secretary and the basic pay is around 18400 to 22500.
- Officer at High Commissioner Ambassador level will work as Foreign secretary and will not receive any pay.
