I have got 2449 rank in JEE MAINS (SC Category) and most probably I will get 1450 rank in JEE Advance exams as per the rank predictor. My interest is to do Integrated M Tech degree in Computer Science. As of now I have two choices: 1. IIIT Gwalior 2. IIITDM Kancheepuram. I am from Mysore, Karnataka
Hello,
Congratulations on getting such good college and branch options. I will give you a preference list which will comprise of all these factors:
- Overall ranking
- Infrastructure
- Location/accessibility
- Branch that you are been offered(Core/interdisciplinary)
- Placement opportunities
- Industry Exposure
You should consider IIIT Gwalior above IIITDM Kancheepuram.
I would also like to add here that an engineering course should be very much taken with an interest in the field so I would suggest you to consider that factor and if you are not aware of the branches mentioned look them up on the internet more reliable will be to go through the syllabus on the respective colleges' website. An interest in the field is the key factor in deciding how your 4 years of college will be and what opportunities you will land for yourself.
Good luck, hope it helps!!
what is the best option for me iiit kancheepuram (c.s branch) Nit silchar (E.E branch)

my jee rank is 7k and im SC... can I get in iiit kancheepuram CSE or ece up to last round???
If you look at the cutoff Trends of IIIT Kancheepuram then getting top branches there with this rank might not be possible.
However you have chances of getting smart manufacturing there .
You can refer the link I have provided for the 2020 cutoff of IIIT Kancheepuram.

I got 511 rank in OBC-NCL PWD between nit surathkal metallurgical engineering or iiit kancheepuram cse which is the better option could I choose
Hi,
Between Metallurgy in NIT - Surathkal and CSE in IIIT Kancheepuram, you should go for CSE in IIIT Kancheepuram. There are various reasons for this. The first and most important reason is placements. Placements of CSE Branch is better than Metallurgy. The second reason is career opportunities. Now a days CSE has more career opportunities than Metallurgy. If you are specifically interested to do metallurgical Engineering, then you should go for NIT otherwise go for CSE Branch.
I hope this will solve your query. In order to know what other colleges, you could get you should use this tool:
JEE Mains 2021 College Predictor
Thanks!!!
I got 511 rak in obc ncl can I join iiit kancheepuram cse than joining to nit metallurgical engineering which is better
With this rank you have chances of getting CSE in NITs too if we consider the trends. Some of them include.
- NIT Manipur
- NIT Patna
- NIT Durgapur
- MNIT Bhopal
- NIT Calicut
But still if you have interest in Metallurgical Engineering than surely you can opt it. But since your are asking betweem NIT and IIIT than obviously first choice will be NITs.
You can refer the link for last year's cutoff of NITs. https://www.google.com/amp/s/engineering.careers360.com/articles/nits-cutoff-for-top-btech-branches/amp

Hello Aspirant,
As we go through the latest cut-off of 2020 then it shows that the closing SC rank was 9986 for Smart Manufacturing branch in IIIT Kancheepuram for SC category.
And this year we saw a little dip in the cut-offs so it is possible that this time we can see some increased closing ranks but at this time it is not possible to say it exactly because it depends upon many factors and those factor keeps changing therefore the cut-off varies.
You can check out the latest cut-offs from the link given below :-
https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx
You can check out marks Vs ranks Vs Percentile from the link given below :-

I got 93percentile will I get in IIIT kancheepuram
Hello Aspirant,
See on the basis of your percentile it is bit difficult to guide you with an accurate prediction so we need your CRL rank to make accurate prediction, you can mention it in the comment section. However if we go through the latest data then your CRL rank must be somewhere around 70000-80000 (just an assumption to give you an idea of seat allotment).
As we go through the latest cut-offs of JEE-Main 2020 of JOSAA 6th round then it shows that :-
Closing CRL rank for IIIT Kancheepuram was :-
- Smart Manufacturing branch - 43973
So you have almost no chances to get IIIT Kancheepuram with any of the branches.
You can check out the latest cut-offs from the link given below :-
https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx
Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of latest cut-offs available on official website of JOSAA or CSAB and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.
