I have scored around 90.25% in my 10th and I have scored 82% in my 12th but in B-tech I have scored only 58.5%. So if I get into a decent B-School (as Im planning to write CAT) will my previous academics effect during the placements in B-Schools?
Master of Business Administration or MBA is a two year post-graduate programme offered by many institutes in India. However, the admission for the same is not done just on the basis of your 10th, 12th and graduation marks but rather on various other factors like score in mba entrance, performance in GDPI/ WAT rounds, and work experience. Also these marks are not only relevant at the time of placement but also at the time of admission. But if you work hard and try scoring a percentile above 95 in CAT then you can get into good bschools of india. For top IIIMs try getting a percentile as high as possible.

Why IIM Bodh Gaya is not in the list of nirf ranking ? If he had participated, what would have been his ranking ?
Indian Institute of Management, Bodh Gaya, being one of the new IIMs, has not yet received any ranking from NIRF. But IIM Bodh Gaya has been top management college of India placing its management graduates in various companies like E&Y, HDFC Bank, Oyo, DTDC, KPMG, DAKS India etc. This institute has collaborations with several reputed institutions in France, Venezuela, Russia, Mexico, Italy and S. Korea. https://bschool.careers360.com/articles/iim-bodh-gaya-fees
Which is good for MBA IIT(ISM) Dhanbad or IIM Bodh Gaya ?
Hey Manish
Both IIM Bodh Gaya and IIT Dhanbad are newly recognized institutes that are offering programs for candidates in Management.
- Although IIT Dhanbad has focus more on the Engineering and Science field, it still has a decent MBA faculty with good campus infrastructure. Due to the prestigious tag it has good companies visiting for Placements and by last year records, it had an average package of 6.5 Lakhs per annum for MBA students
- IIM Bodh Gaya is newly established and is considered as 'Baby IIM'. It has a very beautiful campus and good environment. IIM BC also had great companies like E&Y, HSBC, KPMG for recruitment where average package was recorded 10 lakhs per annum and highest was 16-17 lakhs per annum.
You see IIM Bodh Gaya is purely Management based and also has better MBA placement record than IIT Dhanbad. Also at IIM BC you will get whole lot of experience regarding to Management, Finance unlike IIT Dhanbad where Engineers ratio would be high.

Which is to be a good option IIM Bodh Gaya or IISWBM Kolkata ?
Dear Aspirant,
IIM tags matters in the long run and almost all the IIMs have the same career opportunities except for the top 5. All have a good chunk of recruiters coming for the placements, and internships.
IISWBM Is also a good college, but between IIMs tag and IISWBM IIMs are a good choice.
Hope this helps. Thank you.
iim Vishakapatnam vs iim Bodh Gaya which is a good option ?
Both IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Visakhaptnam are good at their respective places and cannot be compared as such. They both provide you with good infrastructure and a perfect ambience where you can learn and grow. The faculty members are also good. However, you can visit the campuses for a personalized and better experience and have a word with the students studying over there before making a final decision.

What is the actual percentile required for an OBC candidate to get into new or baby IIMs (apart from cutoffs)?
only for private universities like amity sharda or maybe some from ghaziabad ccs universities......
When will IIM CAP, ROHTAK, and Shillong release wat pi first list?
As many as 30 States and UTs have announced lockdown and have closed down their borders to prevent the spread of Corona Virus. In this conditions it is highly unlikely that any shortlist of Candidates will be released before March 31st. Having said that, please keep an eye on the official websites for updated information.
10th/12th/B.tech = 87.4/79/78.2 General+Engg.+Male, 1.8 yrs Exp. Hw much percentile shuld i score to get IIM and othr gud MBA clgs?
You have a very decent academic record which have chances of getting a seat in a good MBA institute. You have good work experience also but it would have been better if it was 24 months i.e 2- years as it is the span of work experience which evryone considers as ideal work experience. You don't have any problem even if you have 1.8 years work experience it's quite enough to raise your bar while applying for an admission.
If you are aiming for IIM's you definitely need to have CAT percentile above 99 or atleast 98 Irrespective of your category. Even 99 isn't a promising percentile for tier-1 IIMs. Besides CAT percentile there are lots of factors involved in the selection process for IIMs. CAT score helps you to proceed to the next step in the admission process and plays a nominable role in the selection process. There are many aspirants who scored above 99 percentile and didn't receive a call for next step from any of the IIMs. Whatever it is better to score percentile above 99.
For other MBA institutions CAT percentile above 90 will be a promising score. Every institution doesn't maintain same cut-off, so if you maintain above 90 you can meet the criteria of most of the colleges. Apart from IIMs there are many good colleges for MBA.
