Now you haven't mentioned your Category and your friend's Category. Now Category plays a role in being shortlisted for Stage 1. Because there is a certain number of Candidates that will be shortlisted for each Category. Now only your CAT scores will be considered to calculate the composite score. The rest depends on your Academics. Now the official website states that the overall percentile might be higher depending on the no.of Candidates to be shortlisted for each Category. So, the Category might have played the difference here.

The above table is followed to allot marks for your 10th and 12th scores. For computing the percentage, the marks of all the subjects in the marks sheet will be considered irrespective of the fact whether they are considered by the Board or not. Now the Bachelor's degree marks are calculated using the following table:

how to get addmission in masters program in iimc??
Hello Sumit,

Also, to apply for this college, the candidate must have a graduation degree from any recognized University. Even the final year students are who are waiting to avail their results shall apply for the same. The exam will be conducted in offline mode and will be held for duration of 2 hours. You have to fill the entrance exam application form on the official website of IIMC. Based on the merit, students will be selected and called for a group discussion after which admissions will be given.
Good luck!
I have 97.1 percentile in CAT, 10th, 12th above 80, graduation above 60. Category OBC, but I didnt get call from IIM Calcutta. Is there anyway I could get to know there cutoffs for stage 2 shortlist.
Hi Bhushan,
You ahve secured a good percentile in CAT exam. But, you have to maintain a good record, Also to get into top IIMs, you have to secured more than 99.5+ percentile, then you will be definitely get a call for the top 3 IIMS, that is IIM Calcutta, IIM Bangalore and IIM Ahmedabad. As you have secured 97.1 percentile, you would get a call in 2nd round. But there are fair chance that you got call from new IIMs.
After the declaration of the result the merit list will be made to call the candidate for the interview round. The merit list comprises of your CAT percentile, your graduation marks, your work experience, your 10th and 12th marks. Also, if you have secured more than 95+ percentile, then you get call from the others IIM for interview and Written Aptitude test. As you have If you have score above 97+ percentile i.e IIMS ,you will have a good probability of getting calls from old IIMs like IIM Lucknow, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Indore, IIM Shillong.
Once you get call from IIM, you have to go through the WAT exam and interview process. On clearing both an another merit list will be prepared, which will select you to get enter IIM.
Got 95% in 10th, 77.5% IN 12th, 7.72 CGPA(till 6th sem) , ****CAT 2019 Percentile : 82.26 ****[ VARC : 88.25 , DILR : 75.76 , QA: 72.56 ] , Category : Engg. Male [ EWS ] , can I expect call from NIT Trichy or IITs for MBA/PGDP for Academic Year 2020-22 ?
With 82.26% you can be shortlisted at NIT Trichy going by the previous years' cut offs. IITs are going to be tough because IIT Madras had a cut off of 85.11% in 2019 and IIT Kharaghpur also had a cut off of 85% in 2019. With 82.26%, you miss these 2 IITs by a narrow margin. But you have pretty fair chances at NIT Trichy. Few other Colleges that you may have a shot at are IRM Anand, NIT Durgapur, NIAEM Hyderabad, IIT Dhanbad, etc. You can also check our Pathfinder to check the list of all the Colleges that you may have a shot at: https://bschool.careers360.com/pathfinder/cat

Got 95% in 10th, 77.5% IN 12th, 7.72 CGPA(till 6th sem) , ****CAT 2019 Percentile : 82.26 ****[ VARC : 88.25 , DILR : 75.76 , QA: 72.56 ] can I expect call from IIMs (even baby IIMs) and if not what good college should I opt for MBA/PGDP for Academic Year 2020-22 ?
Hello Aspirant,
As a General category with 82.26 percentile, There are very less chance to get a call from any IIMs as for Baby IIMs you also require at least 90 percentile. The other colleges you can have the chance to get a call from
XIME Bangalore
MANAGE Hyderabad
Goa Institute of Management
LIBA Chennai
IFMR Chennai
University Business School, Panjab University, Chandigarh etc.
But as you know that CAT marks are not the only parameter involved in the selection procedure. After CAT exam every college in which you apply prepares a merit list to call students for next round of interview based on your aggregate score which comprises of many parameters such as CAT marks, 10th, 12th and graduation percentage, work experience etc. whose weight age varies for all different colleges. After the round of interview again a merit list is prepared which includes marks of your interview, GD and WSAT which along with CAT marks generally have the highest weightage.
You can also use CAT Pathfinder tool to know your further admission chances.

cut off percentile in IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Indore, FMS Delhi, and IIM Calcutta?
The cutoff percentile for IIMs and old management institutions like FMS Delhi ranges over 99 percentile. New IIMs like IIM Sambalpur, IIM Ranchi require 90 percentile as their eligibility criteria. The cutoff is decided on the basis of following points :
1. Exam difficulty
2. Number of test giving candidates
3. Number of candidates who qualify the exam
4. Total count of seats
5. Ranking of the institutes
Do the new and baby IIMs provide dual specialization? What is the criteria? Please explain.
Hello,
They provide dual degree program to some selected students. For IIM calcutta:- the process is selection through CAT/GMAT score. Then going through other screening tests. If you qualify then you will get an admission. The process will be same for all the IIMs but may be the cutoff mark will vary with respect to campus location.
New IIMs are worth joining as said by the students who joined and they had a good experience there and they adventured many new things. Fee structure and hostel facilities are also good.
For more details you can check the dual degree program in IIM webpage. For IIM calcutta :- https://www.iimcal.ac.in/programs/pgp/double-degree-program/double-degree-program
Hope it helps!
