Dear sir, in cat registration, there is 1:new registration 2:registerd candidate 3: registration for non iim. I want to register both, how?
As per your query just go with option 1
New registeration to get registered yourself for cat 2019
Option 2 is for Registered Candidate login
And
Option 3 is for institute to register themselves for accepting cat 2019 score.
Option 3 is not for students
Goodluck

Method of scoring can be found on the official website of the IIMs you are interested in. Those candidates who are eligible after these 2 rounds are called for Written Ability and Personal Interview Test. The final score is calculated based on this scale for IIM Lucknow:
Common Admission Test: 30
Academic Performance (12th + Graduation): 5+5
Diversity Factor (DF academics +DF gender): 5
Work Experience: 5
Writing Ability Test: 10
Personal Interview: 40
Final Score: 100
Because CAT exam will be held at different slots, CAT scores will be normalised to ensure equivalence in the difficulty levels of the exams for both slots. IIM Kozikhode will normalise the CAT scores using percentile equivalence. Adjustment of location and scale differences of score distributions across different norms and then scores will be normalised. These scores will be then converted into percentiles for shortlisting and selection purposes. So to be honest wih you, if you can manage a 99 percentile score in CAT, you will be able to pull off a feat and manage to get a call from any of the IIMs. Having said that, I alsp want to bring to your attention, the selection process of the IIMs so that your preparation can be target based:
IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta and IIM Bangalore conduct their admission process separately having their own weightage for Academic section, Work experience, Diversity factor, etc. You can check their selection criteria in detail at:
www.careers360.com/question-i-got-98-in-10th-8983-in-12th-87-cgpa-in-graduation-if-i-get-above-99-percentile-in-cat-can-i-get-a-call-from-iim-abc
The newly established IIMs follow a Common Admission Process which is also called CAP. The shortlisted candidates will have to appear for a Common Written Ability Test and Personal Interview Rounds. A separate Institute wise merit list will be prepared and this merit list will be declared based on individual admission and selection criteria.
IIM Sirmaur, IIM Jammu, IIM Nagpur will release their own merit list according to the CAT score or percentile and profile of the Candidate. There are no further rounds for these Institutions
But other Top B Schools and Other Participating Institutions release their cut offs post the declaration of CAT scores.
Is there any IIMs which provide bba + MBA integrated courses if so how can I get admission ??
Hi,
IIMs do not have any Integrated courses as of now and mostly have just MBA which can be pursued post any valid undergraduate subject. The criteria for admission is based on CAT entrance examination and you need to have a percentile above 95 atleast for a seat there. For more details check link-

Other colleges that are equivalent or better than iims in terms of academics and has a better job package?? and details of its entranceexam

my 10th and 12th marks is less than 50% in BSBE can i admission of any iim institute
Dear, minimum percentage required for IIM according to the latest updates is 55%. As these marks are required for shortlisting candidates and that's why weightage is given to candidates who secured above 55% marks.
So you didn't get that weightage marks.
Good luck
Which type of work experience is actually considered for shortlisting students for IIMs and what is meant by managerial work experience?
Indian B-schools (IIM's and even others in top 20) unlike B-schools outside India take in a lot of freshers (35%-55% sometimes even as high as 80%). And they have a rigorous selection process that starts with the CAT score and then a GD and a PI.
The top 20 b-schools maybe producing about 6000 MBA's every year (considering each b-school takes about 300 people every year which is a very high estimate).
And there are about 2.5-2.7 lac people who give the CAT. So the conversion is just 2.4% for top 20 b-schools. So essentially they select 5 people out of 200 that sit for CAT. Do you see how competitive it is.
Imagine youself to be a part of the selection committee to select 5 people out of 200. It's a tough decision and which will affect the lives of people whom you select and don't select.
There's also another aspect of selecting people with good academic record because it would make a good CV during placements.
Now imagine a situation where there is just 1 seat left to be alloted and there are 2 people with similar CAT and academic scores. But one has some (2-4 yrs) of work exp and the other doesn't. Automatically the one with the work exp is going to be selected. And that's the diff work ex makes to a profile. It enhances the application.
You can work in an established company , a MNC, a startup or even in your own company. Everything is welcome. Just don't try to fake anything. The admission committee will shred you into a thousand pieces.
Managerial Experience can be defined in two ways:
Where you are actually managing people or projects. For example, you have team members reporting to you. Or, you are directly/indirectly managing certain initiatives. For example, MANAGING your firm’s social media initiatives, or MANAGING pricing strategy etc.
Where you can COMMUNICATE your experience as MANAGERIAL EXPERIENCE. For example, let’s say you neither manage people or projects, but, in your essays/resume, you use words such as “responsible” or “took initiative” to do XYZ, then this can be perceived as MANAGERIAL EXPERIENCE.
Therefore, if your normal work experience is (or can be brought) under any of the above two domains, then it would be constituted as Managerial Experience!
I m fall in PWD category for me is any Iim is good or only A,B,C
Hello Mohit,
IIM A,B, C are the oldest IIMs. IIMs are known for their learning processes as well as employment opportunities but it is evident that the recruiters would only go for the specific IIMs. This would lead the new IIMs suffer a backdrop and the candidates studying in any of the 6 IIMs might have to suffer in this domain. On contrary, if it is all about learning the good stuff, the IIMs have the best faculty possible. Though the new IIMs would suffer when it comes to the comparison of infrastructure but once the IIMs are well developed they would certainly take over the private B-schools with highest grade. So you cannot say that only IIM A, B, C are good.. But there are many other colleges which are good. The decision depends upon the fact what are you getting and what are your objective of doing an MBA and getting into MBa college.
Is any Iim is good or only specific a,b,c
As far as all IIMs are concerned, A,B and C receive the best placements of all. But that doesn't mean that the ones lagging a bit behind A,B and C are not good or placements aren't fruitful.
After A,B and C comes IIM Kozhikode, IIM Lucknow and IIM Indore.
And none of them can produce a harsh career ahead.
Doing a degree from any of the following can be worth a life.
Hope this helps.
Good Luck !
Dear sir, I got 93% in class 10th, 67%in 12th, can I get any good iim or any top mba college if I clear cat? Please read properly then ans.
Definitely you can get into any top - bschool for mba in india if you score good in cat. Also since you haven't mentioned your graduation score therefore i cannot say whether you'll be able to get profile based call or not. But your 10th marks are good. Also of you manage to get 95+ percentile in Cat then you can easily get into any top bschool of India. Whereas if we talk about IIM A B and C, then you might face some difficulties. Although you can get into new IIMs.
Hope this helps.. All the best..
