is jee mains enough for admission in to iisc?or both jee mains and advanced
Hello Aspirant,
See if you are seeking admission to Undergraduate courses offered in IISC then there are different channels such as KVPY, IIT-JEE (Main and Advanced) and NEET through which you can take entry into IISC and the institution has clearly mentioned that "Students desirous of applying to the Bachelor of Science (Research) Programme must take at least one of the above examinations."
So if you clear JEE-Main but unable to clear JEE-Advance then also you can apply through your JEE-Main score but note that you should qualify the certain eligibility criteria which you can check from the official website of IISC, which is given below :-
https://ug.iisc.ac.in/info_brochure.html
I hope this information helps you.
Good Luck!!

Can I took addmission in IISc Bangalore if I have got 80% in Jee mains?
Hi.
You can get into IISC Bangalore through JEE Mains rank for B.Sc degree. Also what do you mean by 80% because if you mean 80 percentile then unfortunately you are not qualified for admission into IISC Bangalore because the closing ranks were as follows:
Category | Cut-Off Marks
JEE Main | JEE Advanced/NEET UG
General | 220 | 220 |
OBC-NCL | 5000 | 5000 |
SC | 8000 | 12000 |
ST | 50000 | 38705 (70000 for NEET) |
KM | 7000 | 7000 |
PH | 1000 | 1000 |
EWS | 2000 | 2000 |
If you have a further specific query please feel free to comment.
Best of Luck.
I am belonging to MBC caste how much rank should I secure in Jee main to get seat in IISc Banglore
Hello aspirant,
As you mentioned that you want to enquire about your chances of getting admission into IISc Bangalore.
Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore was established in the year 1909 by the Indian Government. IISc was started with the joint efforts of Jamsetji Nussarwanji Tata, the Government of India and the Maharaja of Mysore.
The basic criterion for admission to IISc through JEE Mains is getting a minimum percentage of scores.
60% translating to 216/360 for general
54% translating to 195/360 for OBC-NCL
30% translating to 108/360 for SC/ST
However the cut-offs are way higher.
Year 2015:
General 325
OBC-NCL 250 -> 194
SC 220
ST 108
And everyone getting selected, regardless of category, having less than 285 marks need to attend an interview.
Year 2014:
General 295
OBC-NCL 204 -> 215 -> 196
SC 108 -> 160 -> 108
ST 108
And everyone getting selected, regardless of category, having less than 275 marks need to attend an interview.
All those satisfying the necessary cut off and scoring above the minimum marks, are guaranteed admission. Others after clearing interview can be admitted.
If the seats reserved to be filled through JEE Mains is not fully filled, there is a chance for the cut-off to be lowered during subsequent counseling sessions.
All the best

Which one of these are best to study Bsc Hons Physics and maths in Chennai mathematical institute or Bsc research physics in Indian institute of science?
See if you are interested in Theoretical Physics then CMI is the best option for you to enrich research standards and mathematical proficiency.
If you are not sure about that and you want to explore both the experimental as well as theoretical physics and then build your research perspective then it would be better to be in IISC. IISC is also good in theoretical physics and one of the premiere institute.
So this is my perspective of taking decision. It may differ but this is pruposeful.
Have a great day!
