which one should I choose for space science IITs,IIST, or IISc
Dear aspirant,
In order to study space science you're supposed to study at IIST which is Indian institute of Space science and technology. Also if you wish to work at ISRO this is the perfect degree for you to pursue.
At IIST there is a program that they offer called dual degree where you can finish your B.Tech. degree in Engineering Physics and Master of Science in Astronomy and Astrophysics in 5 years that is 10 semesters. For great opportunities one must have Masters of Science in Astronomy and Astrophysics.Studying in IIST is advantageous as you stand out to the ISRO.
There are other degree options available in IITs as well for physics and astronomy but going with IIST would be good choice.Hope this was helpful to you.

How is IISc ug life. if you are from iisc please tell me frankly I am planning to join iisc ug program.
Hello Aspirant,
IISc Bangalore is one of the best government institutes in India for UG programs. It is also recognized worldwide in good universities. It's campus, placements, student life, lectures, infrastructure, academia, industry exposure, are all very good that any student wants.
It also has collaborations with multiple international colleges and universities around the world. It also has a big library, various clubs , sports , good faculty members.
Even if there are many extra curricular activities to do here, it's difficult for students to get time out and manage time management for these since at the college, great emphasis is given to studies as well in a great manner.
For more information and details and reviews from students , you can read them in the link below,

do psu hire in mtech from mechanical in old iits...or iisc?
Hello aspirant,
PSU hires M. tech graduates from IIT/IISC not only from mechanical branch, but also from other branches if they've qualified the GATE exam or any other exam conducted under the government. PSUs like ISRO also conduct their own entrance exams for recruitment and after the candidates qualify the entrance level exam, personal interview takes place so as to select the eligible candidates. Mostly, in recruitment entrance exams of PSUs, the subjects usually consist of 80% of technical studies, and the rest 20% consist of general English, aptitude, current affairs, critical reasoning, verbal & non-verbal reasoning.
Hope, you got the answer.

after BS in IISC, WHAT will be the future job?
Hello Shirish!
You must know that IISc is one of the most prestigious research oriented institutions in India. So, placements is actually not in your mind if you are interested in research. After completing BS degree in IISc, the higher studies trend is generalized amongst the graduates. And job opportunities do not increase before you complete your MS and Ph.D.
Right after your BS degree, you will be eligible for 1st year MS programme in IISc itself. If you pursue your masters' there, then you may apply for placements in The Office of Career Counselling and Placements (OCCaP). A rare percentage of graduates get placed in companies(ratio of about 2:83). It depends in which subject you completed your BS degree.
Because of the programmes STEM focus and duration (four years), there will be many opportunties for sure. If you want to work at Govt organizations, there are plently of opportunities in TIFR, ISRO, CCMB, NGRI etc. You work as a junior fellow scientist and can earn upto INR 55,000 per month(including allowances).
Otherwise, you have the option of pursuing direct Ph.D(without masters) or Integrated Ph.D/Masters in other Indian colleges and abroad. And finally work as a Research assistant or project assistant in leading institutes like the IITs, NITs, NISER and the IISERs.(You might have to give some additional exams in your fourth year like IIT JAM, CSIR-NET,etc.)
The research opportunities in abroad are immense. So, you can appear GRE and then TOEFL and get entrance into top universities in the USA.
There are other options for you too after your BS degree:-
- Become a teacher in coaching institutes(both online and offline platform) or in schools after completeing BEd degree.
- Become a professor in top Indian colleges
- Appear CAT and go to IIM for pursuing MBA. This will open up many employment options for you.
- Appear UPSC and join civil service.
- Start your own company as an entrepreneur.
All the best!
