my jee exam will be in july and i want to be an best engineer such as aerospace or mechanical so i want to get admission in iisc . what should i do and which course i should take .and what is the placement in this branch.how many years should it take.plz ans me.
IITs and IISC Bangalore takes admission through JEE Advanced. A candidate can attempt JEE Advanced only when he/she has qualified JEE Main.
What you need to know is that IITs offers B.Tech course however IISC Bangalore does not offers B.Tech instead it offers B.Sc. It does offers M.Tech though. The placements in these institutions are great and one will not regret going there. A B.Tech degree is of 4 years.
How to get seat in iisc Blr in earth science stream, how much percentile we get in mains or in advance ..pls give me full details
Hi,
There are three channels through which one can get admission to Bs-MS and B.S programs in IISC.
- Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana ( KVPY ) channel
- Joint Entrance Examination ( JEE-Advanced ) of the Indian Institutes of Technology
- State and Central Boards Channel ( SCB )
Through any of the above channel you can get a seat in IISC.
The minimum percentage of marks required in jee mains and jee advance to apply for undergraduate programs at IISER are -
IIT-JEE (Main): 60% (GN), 54% (OBC-NCL), 30% (SC/ST/PH)
IIT-JEE (Advanced): 60% (GN), 54% (OBC-NCL), 30% (SC/ST/PH)
Hope it helps.
Does IISc Banglore and IISERs make it compulsory for first year students in their UG (BS and BS-MS dual program) program to reside in campus hostels?
No, in IISc Bangalore and IISERs, it is not compulsory for students of any year to reside in campus hostels. It solely depends on the candidate's choice to opt for campus hostels or not.

is getting a score of 240/300 enough for getting admission in iisc Bangalore for general category
Hello aspirant,
You might face some difficulty in getting admission with 240 marks if you belong to General Category as the cut off variate every year. I'll recommend you to visit the following link to get complete details of previous year cut off at IISC :
https://www.iisc.ac.in/admissions/cut-off-report-and-gate-score-of-previous-years/
Good Luck
what is the min rank required in jee mains for getting into iisc Bangalore general category
IISc decides a different cut off score each year depending on the difficulty of the paper, above which you are granted admission. This minimum score can range anywhere between 70-80% of the total (i.e 250-290), which makes it highly competitive. Such a score, depending upon the relative performance of students and difficulty of exam, roughly translates to a rank under 1500. Sometimes, a lower cutoff is also set, and students between this lower cut off and the former cut off have to appear for an interview. Hope this helps!
