If you are seeking admission in Undergraduate courses in IIST, the qualifying examination eligibility criteria is as follows-
Candidates must have obtained atleast 75 percent aggregate marks in Class 12th Board examination (atleast 65percent for SC,ST and PD candidates).
The qualifying examination should be any of the the following:
- The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized Central/State Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi; Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE), New Delhi, etc., recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
- Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a recognized Board/University.
- Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
- Vocational Higher Secondary Examination.
- Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects.
- Any Public School/Board/University examination in India or in any foreign country recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
- General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London / Cambridge /Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
- High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
- In case the relevant qualifying examination is not a public examination, the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination at an earlier level.

The eligibility criteria for appearing in IIST examination is as follows:
- General and OBC candidates must have born on or after 1st October 1993 and SC/ST/PwD candidates must have born on or after 1October 1988.
- Qualified 12th or equivalent exam passed with 75% aggregate (65% marks for SC/ST PwD) with subjects as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in 12th standard.
- Must qualify the JEE Main 2018 JEE Advanced 2018 examinations.

Im a graduate in 2018 not writing GATE this year..Can I attend for GATE in 2019 and then apply for IIST?Will they take 2018 batch in 2020?

You can apply for gate 2019.There is no attempt and age problem in gate.You can appear when ever you want to.
