Jee mains is just like a preliminary exam where if you qualify it then you can write JEE ADVANCED which will get you into IIT. Since you are in School therefore you after your 10th you need take science (10+2) and after that giving the entrance exam you can get into IIt.

A lot of students face this kind of dilemma during JOSAA counseling.

The most important point that must be kept in mind is going for a branch that interests you more. Try to gather as much information as you can about these branches from the internet and the people in these fields.

The choice between an old IIT and a new one is a difficult one to make. You must weigh the pros and cons.

Indore being almost in the centre in the nation and a better city than Roorkee in terms of opportunities for coaching for higher studies will be the better option if you want to pursue higher studies.

As far as rankings from various organisations go IIT Roorkee would be the better option. But IIT Indore is also growing at an amazing pace.

As far as Branch Change is considered , it is relatively easier in the new IITs than the old ones due to the number of students.

But in some IITs like IIT Hyderabad, branch change also depends on the branch you have taken and is much easier in branches like chemical engineering and civil engineer.

You have a decent score in MHCET exam as compared to the other candidates. The best college for you depends on the location of college that you prefer and the branch you want to pursue. If you want to pursue your engineering in your home town then colleges nearby you may save you traveling time and give you more time for self study. As per you mentioned score details of 12th board, JEE Mains so you are eligible for B.teh course in IIT. The basic eligibility for the IIT is :

A candidate should passed 10+2 from recognised institute or equivalent  with minimum score of 75% marks. For SC, ST, PWD candidate having 10% relaxation as they need aggregate mininmum score of 65%  or minimum CGPA of 6.0 and 5.5 for SC, ST respectively.
