Hi
Getting a call from a B- School depends upon a number of factors like your percentile score in CAT and academic profile i. e.percentage of marks obtained by you in class 10th, 12th and graduation, work experience. You have an average academic profile as per the details mentioned by you .
With your overall 87.69 percentile in CAT you are eligible to be shortlisted for further rounds in IIT Kanpur but just being eligible doesn't necessarily mean that you will be shortlisted ,as per the past year trends to be shortlisted in IIT Kanpur for further rounds you should have got at least 95 percentile in your CAT, you have chances in following B schools which are listed below :-

*SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai
*Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship, Bangalore

I am currently studying in 12 grade and I want to study in IIT kanpur. what I have to do in order to take admission in IIT KANPUR?
If you are currently studying in class 12th and you want to take admission in iit kanpur, then first you have to give jee mains exam.
If you will pass your class 12th in 2021, then you must have to give jee mains 2021. After clearing the cutoff of jee mains 2021, you will become eligible to give jee advanced exam.
And this jee advanced is the road to IIT. If you secure a good rank in jee advanced, then you will have to attend the josaa counselling, and then as per your jee advanced rank, you will be alloted as seat in iit. And if your jee advanced rank is good enough, then you can get iit kanpur too.

NC-OBC CAT Score 77.2 with VA - 84.86, DI - 63.99, QA - 69.69 and acads 10th- 88%, 12th - 92%, BE - 76%, Work Exp - 40 months. Can I expect a call from any baby/new IIms. What are the good college options do I have?
Getting a call from a B- School depends upon a number of factors like your percentile score in CAT and academic profile i. e.percentage of marks obtained by you in class 10th, 12th and graduation, work experience. Your academic profile is decent as per the details mentioned by you and experience of 40 months is pretty good
But your overall CAT percentile of 77.2 is not enough for IIMs including new /baby IIMs.

*Christ University, Bangalore
*IBS Business School, Hyderabad
*National Institute of Technology, Warangal
*BIMTECH, Greater Noida
*Vel Tech Dr. RR & Dr. SR University, Chennai

Got 78.07% in CAT 2020. OBC-NCL. 59.88%ile in VARC, >65%ile in LRDI and >85%ile quant. Btech IIT Kanpur 67%, Mtech IIT Kharagpur 87.1%. No work ex, 2 years gap between Btech and Mtech. Which new, old IIMs, other colleges should I apply for? Please help, I have no idea about their process and all.
Hello Aspirant,
See according to your category and percentile in CAT you have no chances to get call from any of the IIMs because top IIMs such as IIM A,B,C and so on call the candidates having more than 99 percentile and good academic records and even those seven baby IIMs also have their shortlisting cut-offs around 92-95 percentile but on such percentile you have some chances to get seat in some B-Schools other than IIMs like :-
- Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad
- Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore
- Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow & Jaipur
- Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International School of Textile Management, Coimbatore
- Vel Tech Dr. RR & Dr. SR University, Chennai
- Indian Institute of Health Management Research, Jaipur
- Christ University, Bangalore
- FMS, Manav Rachna University, Faridabad
- IBS Business School, Hyderabad
- National Institute of Technology, Warangal
- BIMTECH, Greater Noida
- Lovely Professional University, Phagwara
- VIT Business School, Vellore
But also note that for shortlisting of candidates for WAT/GD-PI if there is in the B-School admission process then your academic performance and diversity also comes into play means your academic performance in class 10th and 12th, his graduation percentage, graduation background and Job experience is also considered for admission to IIMs and other B-Schools in India.
To check the cut-off for above mentioned B-schools and complete list of other colleges which you can get on such percentile, kindly check out the link given below :-

How much score in jee advanced 2021 should I target for CSE in iit kanpur or roorkee. I belongs to SC category
Being from SC Category, securing a CRL Rank anywhere between 5000-7000 will ensure your selection in CSE in either of IIT Kharagpur, Kanpur or Roorkee. You should target securing atleast 40% of the Total Score to secure this Rank or atleast 140+ on an Expected Total of 360 in JEE Advanced 2021.

mechanical in iit kanpur Vs ECE in iit bubaneswar. future to which is liked
Greetings,
look at these things from a few angles:
- Your personal career goals and interests
- College repute
- Placements
- difference between the branches
Some basic facts first:
IIT- KGP (Mechanical)
- Course fees- approx. 8.5 lacs total
- average salary in 2019 (Mech) - 12-13 lacs per annum
- highest salary (mech) - 1 crore
- Great infrastructure
- Great college repute and student body
IIT - Bhubaneshwar (ECE)
- total fees - 8.6 lacs
- average placement in 2019 - approx.8-12 lacs per annum
- Great repute but not as popular as IIT KGP
- a lot of ECE students sit for IT and management placements
Now the decision rests on 2 main factors:
- The difference in branches
- and your personal interests and goals for future
see, Mechanical and Electronics are both great branches with ample opportunities in India (PSUs) as well as abroad, arguably (to answer your question directly) doing Mechanical from IIT KGP might be the best proposition placement wise but the other element that will decide your future is your interest. If you wish to grab for yourself those high placement figures from such IITs that we all have grown up reading about (big figures in crores and google jobs and whatnot) you will have to develop expertise in your field of study as well as a great personality. Both these colleges are well equipped to give you all the best knowledge available on the subjects but you will have to do the studying and you will have to
- score really well in your batch
- do some great internships
- write research papers
- work on projects
- get recommendations
this all will only be possible if you are enthusiastic about your branch and have a clear vision of where you want to see yourself after say 10 years.
So, when you have such a blessed opportunity to be in a position to choose between 2 great options in life, go with your choice of personal interest. Do some research on what is there to study and discover in both Mech and ECE branches, what career prospects are available for them and how can you find the best job your yourself.
Do not rush it, take your time and decide wisely. Jobs and placements depend on you and your efforts, you just choose where your heart wants to put in the efforts.
Good day, and best of luck.
Btech 4yr mechanical in iit kanpur Vs Btech ECE 4 yr in iit bhu Vs Btech 4yr instrumentation in karagpur which one should prefer as per present circumstances
If we give branch priority then ece in iit kharagpur would be a good choice. Ece in iit kharagpur is very good with excellent placements. Most of the software companies prefer ece students over eie. But it totally depends on your interest, which branch you would like to study in the future, all the three branches would be really nice at all these three iit's.

B tech in aerospace engineering IIT Bombay Vs IIT Kanpur for joining ISRO with package and Reputation.
One major factor responsible for a lower cut off at IITB is its location. The metropolitan city attracts lots of student. Kanpur ,as a city is a mess. This might be a factor for lower cutoff at IITK....
As both the colleges are good for aerospace engineering ..and have a good reputation...
Hope this will help youu.
Better luck!!
