Well, there's an eligibility criteria for some PSU's like IOCL to have an aggregate 65% if you go through the recruitment process without the gate exam. 

Otherwise you won't have any problem.

As you are the student from SC category. Here I won't provide the exact rank but give to the good estimate. It’s all depends on the no of vacancies for SC and in open category.

Here I'm mentioning open category as the merit student SC will occupy the open category seat and there is chance for following next SC student to be in list.

Normally PSUs call 1:3 or 1:4 for interview. If there are 7 vacancies for SC minimum 21 to 28 no of students from SC are called for interview, if 'X' no of merit students from these 21 to 28 then 21+X or 28+X students from SC will get opportunity for interview. Similarly for the final list also.

In above case that 21+ 'X' or 28+'X' candidate may be AIR 400. As GATE won't give the category wise.

The example is valid only if all students from SCs category upto AIR 400 applied for PSU, If any student did not apply then next student will be added to that list.

IOCL is indian oil corporation limited is a public sector industry or the one that run under government finance and fund. And getting an engineering post there is a dream come true for some student. One can become engineers there either after clearing GATE (graduate aptitude test for engineering) or by directly appearing in IOCL conducted exam.

Coming to your question I would like to tell you that it totally depends on the stream which you get in the iocl that is 

• Marketing 
• Refinery 
• Pipeline 
• Business development

In marketing or pipeline you may get but the duration will be of 3-4 years but in the refinery if you get your posting will be in the outskirts of the main city , and there you will have to live for 6-8 years after that you will be posted to another place ,so mostly the area of the posting depends upon the stream which you get in the iocl.

Yes the PSU's in india like IOCL,ONGC,BPCL offer 7 digit salary to chemical/mechanical/electrical engineers who qualify gate with a decent rank especially those who are between 1-200.

Because these PSU's come in the category of 'Maharatna Companies' so they stop sending call letters around 200 rank.

But not everyone gets a salary of more than 10 lakh per annum,some students who are having a good gate score and have passes their interview portion are able to grab a salary about 10 lakh or sometimes more.

Sometimes ONGC and IOCL can give the candidates a salary package of about 15 lakh per annum.

The students of Chemical,Mechanical,Electrical get good opportunities in these PSU's apart from the perks offered by these govt.companies.

30th June was the last date for considering eligibility, and hence the results should be released anytime now, keep checking the official website for information.

You have to apply for the post .

It takes some time to release the selection list 

The iocl are Navratna psu so they have very long interview process .

It was in  August last year 

The cutoff are very high for it .
