I want pursue my career in designing. I heard about iid (Institute of Industrial Design) is it suggestible to the course in that institute
Hello Varaprasad,
If you want to have a career in designing field, then there are a lot of options available for you. The institute you are asking about is the Industrial Institute of Design. It is a private institute that offers various short-term and long-term courses related to the industrial designing field.
In industrial designing, one is trained to blend applied art and applied science in order to improve a product in terms of its visual aspects, applicability, and usage.
Courses in IID-
1.Diploma in Industrial Design
It is a 9-month diploma along with 3 months of project-based study in which a stipend will be provided to you. In this course, you will learn about the design principles and right skills for model making.
2. Masters in Automobile Body Design
In this programme, the candidate is introduced to all the stages of designing automobiles - from drawing board to the street.
3.Masters in Aircraft Body Design
In this course, the candidate is introduced to the study of in aerodynamic, structural and propulsive technologies to develop the new model of aircraft.
4. Individual Programmes
Around 10-12 programmes are offered of various domains such as Sketching for product designers/ automotive designers, Computer Aided Styling for Automotive designers/ Product designers, Product Ergonomics etc. All of them are of 40-hour duration.
Whether this institute worth it or not?
As a private training center, this institute has a good rating but it is not a college, neither it is affiliated to one, it is just a simple training center. So, if you just want good training in industrial designing, along with your engineering degree or diploma or maybe an introduction to industrial designing, then go for this institute. Another advantage is that you will get another short-term degree in your resume. But if you think that it will be able to provide you a good job or placement, then maybe this won't work.
I hope I was to answer your queries. If you any doubt, feel free to ask.
All the best for your future!
