Computer science tends to remain focused on narrowly defined problems, such as the development of faster/better web browsers or cell phone hardware. While information scientists can be trained in any field with a significant amount of mathematical content (engineering, biology, psychology, etc.), they often seek careers involving computers and technology. An information scientist may also have training in statistics and mathematics. This sort of training would be useful for performing data mining or analyzing algorithms that are presented as mathematical functions or formulas. Information scientists who are interested in computer programming will likely specialize in software engineering or human-computer interaction rather than pure computer programming.

While the distinction between computer science and information science can be blurry, a useful distinction is that computer science takes an engineering approach to technology, with data and software as the focus of its study (and usually hardware as well), while information science takes a more scientific approach and focuses on understanding users, their tasks, needs, and contexts. In this case, it could also be said that computer science addresses problems relevant to computers while those relevant to humans are dealt with by information science. This course mainly focuses on the concepts artificial intelligence and encompasses the process involved from designing the prototype to building the final resourceful output.

Information science is an Undergraduate program where you learn about how big organizations transfer, use and transmit information.
