s block elements in inorganic chemistry
The s-block elements are the 14 elements contained within these columns. All of the s-block elements are unified by the fact that their valence electrons (outermost electrons) are in an s orbital. The s orbital is spherical and can be occupied by a maximum of two electrons. Elements in column 1 have one electron in the s orbital, and elements in column 2 (plus helium) have two electrons in the s orbital.
The s-block elements include hydrogen (H), helium (He), lithium (Li), beryllium (Be), sodium (Na), magnesium (Mg), potassium (K), calcium (Ca), rubidium (Rb), strontium (Sr), cesium (Cs), barium (Ba), francium (Fr) and radium (Ra).
metallury introduction in inorganic chemistry.
Dear Student,
Metallurgy is defined as a process that is used for the extraction of metals in their pure form . Metallurgy deals with the process of purification of metals and the formation of alloys.
Principles of Metallurgy :-
- Crushing and grinding
- The concentration of ores
- Hydrolytic method
- Magnetic separation
- Froth floatation
- Roasting and calcination

I havent studied anything of Inorganic chemistry of class 11th. The question is will i able to understand class 12th Inorganic chemistry?? same goes with physical chemistry too
Dear Student,
Yes , you will be able to understand and learn class 12 chemistry even if you haven't studied anything in class 11 chemistry because there is not much link between class 11 and class 12 chemistry.
But then too, my suggestion would be cover some basic topics of 11th, as it will be helpful for you.
Chapters :
1 Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure (Must to study)
2 Redox Reactions (You can just do the basics of this chapter, this will help you understand reaction mechanism of numerous preparation of organic compounds because most of them are reduction or oxidation reactions.)
3 Organic Chemistry - Some Basic Principles and Techniques (Just the Nomenclature, Isomerism, I effect and R effect should be good enough.)
Topics :
1 Mole Concept (This one is fundamental and easy.)
2 Aromaticity (You will find this one in Unit 13 Hydrocarbons in Section 13.5. These are just some conditions, and if a compound seems to fall under it, it is considered an aromatic compound.)

what is inorganic chemistry give examples
Dear, inorganic chemistry deals with those compounds which does not consist of carbon and hydrogen in the same molecule. In this section of chemistry you have to emphasize on compounds like
Ammonia, Ammonium salts, Sulphur compounds
Sodium and it's derivatives, different inorganic acids like : HCl, H2SO4, HNO3 etc.
Other than that you will read about Iron Compounds, Limit tests of the compounds and different salts like
Copper Sulphate, Magnesium Sulphate (Epsom Salt)
Good luck !!
what is inorganic chemistry give example
Hi aspirant,
Inorganic chemistry is that branch of chemistry that deals with synthesis and behavior of inorganic and organometallic compounds except the myriad organic compounds. In simpler words in inorganic chemistry we learn about the chemical compounds that lacks carbon–hydrogen bonds. Some of the common compounds that are examined under inorganic chemistry are:
- Sodium chloride (NaCl): used as table salt
- Silicon dioxide (SiO2): used in computer chips and solar cells
- Sapphire (Al2O3): a well-known gemstone
- Sulfuric acid (H2SO4): a chemical widely used in the production of fertilizers
The list of chapters covered under inorganic chemistry can be seen below:
- Classification of Element and Periodicity
- Hydrogen
- s- block Elements
- p- block Elements
- d- and f- block Elements (Transitions Elements)
- General Principle and Process of Isolation of Elements
- Co-ordination Compound
- Environmental Chemistry
Hope it helps!!
which book is best for inorganic chemistry for neet ?
From my experience, NCERT Textbooks is definitely the base as far as Inorganic Chemistry is concerned. Apart from that, there are few Materials and Strategies which help Cope with Inorganic Chemistry Preparation
1. Arihant Chemistry Handbook NEET
2. Resonance/Allen Material + Self Notes
3. After each Mock Test, if there are 10 Inorganic Chemistry Questions, note them down with their solution and maintain this diary till your NEET. Would be a fruitful practice, and by the time you'll be appearing for NEET, having answered around 50 Mock Tests, you'll have a Collection of around 500 Inroganic Chemistry Questions for Revision before Exam.
how many questions asked in neet from organic and inorganic chemistry?
Hi,
Hope you are doing well.
According to the NEET UG exam pattern, there will be 180 questions, 45 of which will be from the chemistry section. However, the CBSE has not provided a breakdown of the questions that will be asked in organic and inorganic chemistry. But the topics like carboxylic acid amynes aldehydes halogen carbons are very important. You can go with 1:1 ie 50-50 for organic and inorganic chemistry section.
Hope this helps.
Good Luck!
