It depends on the institute you wish to seek admission. There are various entrance exams for admission to Bachelor's in Interior Designing. Depending on the college the admission process vary. Few entrance exams to get admission in BID are NID DAT, UCEED etc. There are other institutes which conducts their own entrance exams such as CEPT University.
Depending on your interest, financial ability and resources available you need to choose a college and prepare accordingly.

You can go with Science and commerce and then go for Architecture.
Interior designing and architectural are two different course. Interior designing can be done in 3 years or 1 year. And architectural course is compulsory 5 years course
You can choose stream base on your interest. If you take science stream you can directly take up architectural course. But if you take commerce stream, you need to take an entrance for architectural that is NATA. If you clear that you can get admission for architectural.

After 10th you will not able to take admission in diploma in interior design Admissions to Diploma in Interior Design course are mainly done on merit basis that is the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in class 12th or equivalent level examinations followed by a qualifying entrance exam conduct by respective college/institute. Colleges/Institutes offering the course demand a minimum of 50% marks (Relaxable for reserved category candidates) at 10+2 or equivalent level in order to accord admissions in the course.

Interior designing is a good choice of yours according to developed era. In my opinion,you should go for degree instead of diploma. As you told both degree and diploma are for equal tenure so why to sail in pond if river is available.
All i want to express is that degree offers a wide knowledge and factual information regarding a course. If you are learning interior designing for hobby or interest or other reasons then you can go for diploma but if it's your passion and career choice, go for degree.
Also, if you will go for diploma you have to do graduation also at some point of time in life which will disturb your focus on interior designing. Kindly check the fees structure too of both and then choose wisely what is beneficial in your circumstances

Hello student ,
After 12th to pursue for an interior designer you need to score minimum 50 % from a recognised board .
You can do diploma , bachelor degree or a certificate course based on your interest .
Further to continue these under graduation course you have to give entrance exam to get admission in the college or you have to give NATA which is a nationwide aptitude test for pursuing Bachelors degree.
You can also go for - Bachelor of science in interior Design (3 years) ,Bachelor of Design in Interior design ( 4 years ) , Bachelor of Interior design (5 years) and many others .
