Indian Institute of Information Technology, Pune , is a college directly under central government, and although it doesn't have a permanent campus yet, it operates from it's temporary campus in  Yewalewandi,Pune. The campus, being in the outskirts, have some technical difficulties like internet issues, communication via public transport etc.

Now, coming to the course curriculum, the college doesn't compromise with it's courses and safe to say, the quality of education provided here is quite upto the mark. The faculty is really helpful and encouraging. They have really nice atmosphere for learning and practicing coding, and the students are very well accustomed to coding on various platforms.

The placements , here are pretty decent , the average package being 7LPA  and more than 70% students being placed. The highest salary package last year was 22LPA by Gojek. The top recruiters being TCS, Bosch, accenture, amazon, Persistent, and many such prestigious companies.

IIIT Pune has many advantages as compared to VIT Vellore.

• First of all, the tag IIIT itself is of great value and will help you further in placements and higher studies whereas VIT is a private university.
• The fees of IIIT is way less as compared to VIT Vellore.
• Thirdly, there is overcrowding at private universities like VIT. For example, if there are 500 students in CSE branch at VIT,  there are just a 100 in CSE branch at IIIT Pune.

In January session 869010 candidates appeared in JEE Main. Your rank based on category will be in between 16000-18000. It is not mentioned if you belong to OBC-NCL or OBC-CL, if you belong to OBC-CL then you will come under general category.In 2019 the cut off in round 7 for IIIT, Pune for CSE was 9799. This is for OBC-NCL category and for general category it was 23660. Considering this you may get seat whether you belong to OBC-NCL or OBC-CL. However, cut off changes depending on number of candidates appeared, difficulty of exam, number of seats available etc.
