ITI passed out candidate wants to join for second year diploma through lateral entry.Plz help
An ITI (Industrial Training Institute) candidate can potentially join the second year of a diploma program through lateral entry.
The eligibility for lateral entry typically applies to diploma programs in a field related to the ITI trade you completed. For example, an ITI certificate in Fitter would have a better chance of qualifying for lateral entry into a diploma program in Mechanical Engineering compared to Civil Engineering.
Universities and institutes offering diploma programs have their own specific criteria for lateral entry admission. These criteria might include:
- Minimum marks obtained in the ITI final exam.
- Entrance exams conducted specifically for lateral entry students.
-
Seats available for lateral entry in the second year.
I hope it helps!
I have completed 12 with PCM But my percentage was not good Now i am doing ITI (fitter trade) in a govt industrial training institute after completing ITI can i able to get admission in B.tech from any engineering college in Guwahati city please guide me
hi,
see you can not join b.Tech course after completing ITI training. you can get admission in b.tech course after completing three years diploma course in relevant stream, diploma pass students can join b.tech as lateral entry in second year of b.tech course by clearing state wise lateral entry exam test. for example JELET, bihar lateral entry test etc.
you should join the diploma engineering course after completing 12th, it would have saved your years , since currently you are doing ITI program you are eligible to apply for diploma course at the second year of diploma as lateral entry. then after completing diploma you may apply for b.tech course.
