iam a first year bsc physics student .when should i start for preparing for jam physics?how should i start?is it necessary to go for coaching
Hello aspirant.,
JAM is an extremely tough exam to crack as the availability of seats are low that doesn't mean the exam would be easier.
Now coming to the preparation. As you are in the first year itself make sure you study well for all the subjects so that it would make you easy at the last moment. Keep in check and write notes regarding the important topic which teacher taughts you as most topics would be hard when read at last moment. Make sure you keep your notes assembled at one place. This makes it easy for you whenever you want to revise the topics.
Some of the important things you should keep in mind are:
1. Check always the previous year papers so that you get a detailed version of exam
2. Make sure to keep mock test for every topic you read.
3. Revise everyday small topics whenever you get time.
4. If possible do listen about the topic as it makes things easy for you.
If you think you it would be better if you go for caoching classes then go for it. If you can read at home then you can do it by following these steps.
Hope this helps you

From where mean which topic to start IIT JAM Physics preparation?
Hello,
Syllabus for Physics for IIT-JAM:-
- mathematical methods
- Mechanics and general properties of matter
- Oscillation , waves and optics
- electricity and magnetism
- Kinetic theory and thermodynamics
- Modern physics
- Solid state physics, device and electronics
You can start in your way of approach. Go for easy chapters. Make notes while studying. solve numericals. Understand steps. while solving any numerical make sure you remember the condition. for different condition, different formula and principle is used. Make note of it.
progress to hard topics. cover those 2-3 times. solve more numericals. appear chapter wise mock test for hard chapters. Follow RD Sharma SL Arora for basic concepts.

hello sir/mam, my question is - what is the eligibility criteria for iit jam (physics) ?? Do they only check the marks of B.Sc. or HS marks also ??
Hi
No, your marks in 10+2 or HS is not taken in account for IIT JAM eligibility
To be eligible for IIT JAM examination for MSc physics you need to hace studied Physics for at least two years or four semesters and Mathematics for at least one year or two semesters in your graduation and must have got at least 55% or 5.5 CGPA in your graduation if you belong to general or obc category and at least 50% or 5 CGPA in your graduation if you belong to Sc or St category. So if you fulfill this criteria then you are eligible for IIT JAM for Msc physics

I got 2875 rank for IIT JAM Physics (2020), Should I participate in the JAM or CCMN counselling, Is there any chance that I will secure an admission anywhere, where JAM scores are accepted ?
Sorry to say but it seems impossible. As there are more than 445 seats available in JAM Physics. Each institute has different number of seats available for JAM physics. Maximum of 40 seats are available in each institute for IIT JAM in Physics. For general category, each institute provides around 20 seats for JAM Physics candidates.
For admission in IITs you need less than 500 rank while for admission in various NITs via CCMN counseling, you require rank less than 2000. So better to go for CCMN ciuncounse and then try for better state institutions and private institutions.
which Is best Study Material for IIT JAM Physics,,, Eduncle or Careet Endeavour??
Hello dear student,
Both the study videos that you are talking about a good and depends upon how you are utilising them. The study material of of career endeavour for IIT JAM is quite good and it covers all most important topics. While the eduncle study material is very conceptual and detailed. It is also quite good and it covers almost all relevant and important topics that comes in exam.
but for IIT JAM physics as you are aiming for so I would recommend you to go for career endeavour study material.
Thank you
My IIT JAM Physics rank is 2875 and I belong OBC-NCL . Will I make it to any NITs?
