How can I get IISc banglore through JEE mains only? I ask to meta that how can I get IISc banglore through jee mains only but it said IISc banglore not consider jee mains score you have to give IAT or JEE advance... Pls tell me that its right or not? Can I get IISc banglore through jee mains only?? How? What is the process?
Hi Siddhi,
Yes, IISc takes admission through JEE Mains. Candidates who have qualified JEE Mains can apply for Bachelor of Science (Research) at IISc. All India Rank above or below 350 in either JEE Mains or JEE Advanced. The cut-off is based on the All India ranking for Counselling and not on the category based ranking.
For IISc Bangalore, candidate must qualify one of these national tests like JEE Mains, JEE Advanced, IISCER Aptitude, NEET UG with a valid score. There are multiple stages once the candidate qualifies JEE Main or any of the exams. The shortlisted candidates will be moved to the next rounds like written tests and personal interviews. IISc Bangalore then, shortlists candidates, based on their scores in entrance exam and their performance in interviews. And then they're informed about the seat allotments.
For more detailed info, you can visit the official website of IISc or the website of Careers360 which I'm mentioning below, this will help you solving your doubt. All the best for you future!

Hello,
Yes, you will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2025 and 2026, based on the information you’ve shared. According to JEE Advanced eligibility criteria:
1) Candidates are allowed a maximum of two attempts in consecutive years.
2) The counting begins from the first year the candidate appears for their Class 12th board exams. Since you couldn’t sit for the 2024 board exams due to medical reasons and will officially appear in 2025 as a regular candidate, 2025 will be considered your first appearance
Thus, you can attempt JEE Advanced in 2025 and 2026. Ensure your medical records are documented in case any clarification is needed.

Hello,
Yes, you will be eligible for JEE Advanced in 2025 and 2026. Here's why:
- Eligibility Criteria: JEE Advanced attempts are counted from the year of first passing Class 12th, not the year you enrolled or appeared for the exams.
- Passing Year: Since you were unable to complete Class 12th in 2023-2024 due to medical reasons and are now appearing in 2024-2025, this will be considered your first passing year.
- Attempt Count: As per JEE Advanced rules, candidates are allowed two consecutive attempts in the year they pass Class 12th and the following year. For you, this means:
- First attempt: JEE Advanced 2025.
- Second attempt: JEE Advanced 2026.
- Medical Grounds: Your absence in 2023-2024 does not count as a passing attempt, as you did not qualify Class 12th that year.
Ensure your medical records are properly documented for any clarifications if required.

So since my first appearance in class 12th boards was in the year 2024 but I was absent in all my board exams, will I be eligible for jee advanced 2025 and 2026?
No, as per JEE eligibility criteria for candidates is 12th appearing and next year to that only it doesn't matters whether you give your exams or not only what matters is that you studied in class 12.JEE Advanced allows only one year dropper to sit for the examination. Double droppers are allowed in JEE Mains but not in JEE Advanced.
So you can attempt JEE advance in this year only from the next year which is 2025 yo can attempt only jee mains.
