I have done BA French with 97%. im sure to get 95% in CAT. Will IIMs select me? Will IIMs give preference to ug in other disciplines compared to ug degree in language. Will Bcom graduates stand a better chance than me, as my ug is BAFrench ?
Hi Joseph,
IIMs accept candidates from all disciplines, especially major opportunities are given to the ones who do not belong to Engineering domains. Now, what happens in reality is maximum marks are usually scored by people belonging to engineering domain due to the design of engineering courses which boost their analytical and critical thinking.
Thus, in general, cutoffs for students belonging to Arts domain for IIMs are usually decreased a bit, so here you will be having an upper hand.
For example, to get into IIM A, an Engg student needs an average of 99.5 percentile while for a student from other disciplines (BA / BCom) needs no more than 98 percentile.
Now, again CAT is a 300 mark paper and the highest marks scored is sometimes around 250 (100 percentile), 95% i.e. 285 is an extreme difficult task.
If you're talking about 95 percentile (which is around 155), that is a legit score. And with such a percentile, and with Arts as your UG, be assured to get a great B. School (although not IIM A,B,C)
Also, to answer your next question, No, Commerce students will not get any extra benefit by virtue of their discipline.
Last but not the least, being a non-engineer, you will already have an upper hand for CAT, do utilize this opportunity and try to score as much as you can in CAT. A percentile of around 98 and above with decent 10th and 12th marks will ensure entry into the top IIMs (IIM ABC) as well.
Hope this was helpful.

does age come in the way of getting a job as a Japanese language interpreter or translator in india
See there no such restrictions in terms of Japanese Language Interpreter. But if you see the vacancies notification in any of the site then you will find out that for most recruiters the focus is on the experience in the job. Apart from this there are some recruiters which can create restrictions for Fresher Interpreter within age 35-40. So if you have experience, you have nothing to worry. But if you didn't have experience, then it would be better for you to apply with in 30-35 years of age for maximum opportunity.

Dear Student,
Before telling you about hacking, let me brief you about coding first. Coding is a way or language used by programmers to talk and instruct the computers. A code briefs or instructs the computer about the actions it needs to perform. We can use the skill of coding to make websites and apps, process data, and perform lots of other cool and advanced things.
In today's era, coding is considered necessary because we live surrounded by computers, mobiles and laptops and all that has a lot to do with coding. Also, the number of career opportunities in coding fields has expanded due to the advancement of technology around us. And do remember, anyone can learn how to code! Learning to code makes it possible to imagine the things you want to make and actually build them.
To learn coding easily, first you need to choose your interest. Is it web development, android development, cybersecurity, data analyst, etc. After getting your interest, get familiarize with the technology, languages and frameworks required. Then, go with that languages to learn. As you have mentioned the term hacking, so I am assuming that you have interest in Cybersecurity field. So, search for corresponding languages and courses on udemy, coursera, great learning, etc.
Now, coming to what is hacking. Hacking refers to an attempt to exploit a computer system or a private network inside a computer. Simply, it is the unauthorised access to or control over computer network security systems for some bad or wrong purpose. There are two main factors used to determine what type of hacker an individual is: their motives and legality of their actions.
Based on these factors, Hackers are divided into three types—white, black, and grey hat.
1. Black hat hackers are normally responsible for creating malware, which is frequently used to infiltrate computerized networks and systems.
2. White hat hackers , also known as ethical hackers, they’re often employed or contracted by companies and governmental entities, working as security specialists looking for vulnerabilities.
3. Grey hat hackers are individuals who utilize aspects from black and white hat hackers, but will usually seek out vulnerabilities in a system without an owner’s permission or knowledge.

discuss english as a global Language?
Hello,
When people think of a debate on languages, they can start a strong argument that a strong matching exists between supremacy and cultural power. The main factor for which a language becomes global is because of powerful power-base, either in economy or politics or military.
The induction of the English language came from languages like French, Latin, German, and other European languages. This is one of the reasons why many Europeans don’t find it difficult to learn English language. Again, linguists argue that the simplicity of the English language is the reason why it became a global language. Also, the pronunciation of the English language is not very complex as others like Korean or Turkish for example.
Primarily the difficulty level of any language differs from person to person and it also varies upon the culture to which one belongs to. For example, a Korean will have less difficulty in learning the Japanese language in comparison to a German person due to the nearness of the Korean and Japanese cultures.
Because to the huge British colonialism, no culture has a complete unconsciousness of the English language or words. English is a language that has never appeared as too strange for any community. And learning English is not a big deal for most people as they can find familiarity with the language.
English is a popular language because of the presence of various native and non-native speakers in whole world. According to statistics, one-fourth of the world is either fluent in the language or can somehow speak it. Also it’s true that the number of native Mandarin speakers is the largest in the world, Mandarin is not considered as global language because it has complex spellings, grammar, and letter system.
On the other hand, the English language has very less complexity problems. The English language has a lot of words and synonyms to express things. Any word or its meaning can be expressed with a high level of accuracy using English language.
English is definitely the most commonly spoken language in the world so far. On a global level, English has the most number of speakers, who speak English either as a first or second language. Without any doubt, no other language in the world will come close to English in terms of its huge popularity.
Hope this helps.....
When calculating the best-four percentage, for admission in BA (Hons.) English, can we include two language subjects? like hindi and english both?
Hello,
The eligibility criteria for BA English(Hons) in Delhi University is passed 10+2 from a recognized board securing 55% marks or more in English, and the rest of three subjects can be from any other language subjects core or elective included in list A/Economics/ Geography,/History/Philosophy, Political Science/Psychology and Sociology/Legal Studies/Mathematics. In the set of best three if you include any subjects from List B it will lead to the deduction of 1% per subject, with total deduction of 2%, and if you include any subjects that don't belong either to List A or B, it will lead to a deduction of 2.5%.
Now, coming to your question yes, you can include any language that is included in List A, the included language can be core/elective, so you can add English and best of three amongst Hindi(core/elective)+Economics/ Geography,/History/Philosophy, Political Science/Psychology and Sociology/Legal Studies/Mathematics
