hi mam i completed UG english literature can you help me to calculate the overall marks till 5th semester and we dont get the result of 6th semester soo I dont know how to calculate the marks to apply llb. please help me mam
Hello Aspirant,
The correct way you calculate your percentage is to add all the marks that you got in a semester and divide it by the total maximum marks of all your paper.
Eg- British Literature- 78/100
American literature- 65/100
Literacy criticism- 65/100
Technical Writing- 75/100
Thus, your percentage will be -
78+65+65+75= 283
100+100+100+100= 400
Your Percentage = (283/400) *100
=70.75%
Do this for all your semesters and you'll have your semester-wise percentage. If the institute is asking for an aggregate percentage, then you need to give them an overall percentage, for that, take all your semester percentages and divide it by 5 (because you have results of only 5 semesters)
Eg- Sem 1= 70.75%
Sem 2= 68%
Sem 3= 60%
Sem 4= 72%
Sem 5= 65%
Add all your percentage-
70.75+68+60+72+65 = 335.75
Now divide this by 5 (Because we took the result of 5 semesters)-
335.75 /5 = 67.15%. This is your aggregate percentage.
Hope this helps.
Is it possible to do MA in 2 different subjects (Psychology and English Literature) simultaneously in the same academic year in DAVV?
It appears that pursuing M.A. in two different subjects simultaneously (Psychology and English Literature) in the same academic year at DAVV (Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya) might not be possible through the regular full-time program.
M.A. programs at DAVV (and most universities in India) are typically designed as full-time courses with a set curriculum and schedule. This makes it challenging to pursue two full-time programs simultaneously due to overlapping classes, assignments, and exams.
DAVV has recently introduced a dual degree program where students can pursue two courses concurrently. However, there are key points to consider:
-
Limited Combinations:
The program might allow a combination of a regular degree with a diploma or certificate course, not necessarily two full-fledged M.A. degrees.
-
Availability and Eligibility:
Specific details about subject combinations, eligibility criteria, and the application process for this new dual degree program might still be under development.

Question : Comprehension:
Read the given passage and answer the questions that follow.
Plato is the earliest important educational thinker, and education is an essential element in 'The Republic' (his most important work on philosophy and political theory, written around 360 B.C.). In it, he advocates some rather extreme methods: removing children from their mothers' care and raising them as wards of the state, and differentiating children suitable to the various castes, the highest receiving the most education, so that they could act as guardians of the city and care for the less able. He believed that education should be holistic, including facts, skills, physical discipline, music, and art. Plato believed that talent and intelligence are not distributed genetically and thus can be found in children born to all classes, although his proposed system of selective public education for an educated minority of the population does not really follow a democratic model.
Aristotle considered human nature, habit, and reason to be equally important forces to be cultivated in education, the ultimate aim of which should be to produce good and virtuous citizens. He proposed that teachers lead their students systematically, and that repetition be used as a key tool to develop good habits, unlike Socrates' emphasis on questioning his listeners to bring out their own ideas. He emphasized the balancing of the theoretical and practical aspects of subjects taught, among which he explicitly mentions reading, writing, mathematics, music, physical education, literature, history, and a wide range of sciences, as well as play, which he also considered important.
Question:
Which of these statements is NOT true?
Option 1: Socrates encouraged the listeners to come up with original ideas.
Option 2: The Republic was written around 360 A.D.
Option 3: Socrates considered music and physical education as important aspects of learning.
Option 4: Plato's methods of education can be called 'extreme'.
Correct Answer: The Republic was written around 360 A.D.
Solution : The second option is the correct choice.
The statement the Republic was written around 360 A.D. is not true.
Explanation:
The Republic, Plato's most important work on philosophy and political theory, was written around 360 B.C., not 360 A.D. The use of B.C. (Before Christ) and A.D. (Anno Domini) helps specify the historical period. Plato lived in ancient Greece, and his influential work was composed in the 4th century B.C., making the correct time reference.
