Why should I choose an MBA in marketing from the IIMA?
Hi,
IIMA is the top B-school of India, and it is really a once in a lifetime opportunity to be able to study here. The MBA program of IIMA is considered as one of the toughest courses in the world and it really shapes up an individual into a very capable professional. It helps students be prepared to excel in their career and be able to work in any sector.
The course is a 2 year full time course. The admission procedure is given below:
- Candidates are short-listed for Analytical Writing Test (AWT) and Personal Interview (PI)
- An Admission in PGP in IIMA through valid CAT score.
The eligibility criteria for admission in MBA program is as follows:
- The candidate must hold a bachelor's degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (in case of the candidate belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category, this is related to 45%), of any of the universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent. The percentage obtained by the candidate in the bachelor's degree would be based on the practice followed by the institution/university from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case of the candidate being awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence would be based on the equivalence certified by the institution/university from where they have obtained the bachelor's degree. In case the institution/university does not have any scheme for converting the CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by IIMA by dividing the obtained CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant by 100.
- A candidate appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. Such a candidate must produce a certificate from the principal/head of the department/registrar/director of the institution/university certifying that the candidate is currently in the final year/is awaiting final results and has obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent (45% in case of the candidate belonging to SC/ST/PwD category) based on latest available grades/marks.
Total fees for the MBA Program is 23 lakhs. IIMA provides the best placements in India. Highest packages goes upto 53 LPA (domestic) and 80 LPA (international). Hence any student willing to do hard work will always get a handsome package.
Hope it helps.
Hello, how do i become a investment banker, i have masters degree in marketing and currently working in bank. what can i do to be the propoer investment banker (what all certification needed to do so)
Hi,
I hope you are doing well.
Get a College Degree
A college degree in finance or economics is typically the starting point for entry-level jobs at an investment bank . Accounting and business are also common educational backgrounds.
Go for an Advanced Degree
While you can get a job with a bachelor’s degree, having an advanced degree is another way to improve your prospects. A Master of Business Administration (MBA) or an advanced degree in math can add to your appeal. A chartered financial analyst (CFA) certification can help, too.
Nail Down an Internship in Investment Banking
Internships provide a path for students and recent graduates to obtain full-time employment in just about every profession. Investment banking is no different. An internship gives you an opportunity to try out your desired field, gain exposure to the culture, get work experience, and impress potential employers. It’s an excellent way to jump-start your career.
Long before you land your first megadeal you need to land a job. Selling yourself will be your first task, so every opportunity to do so is important. You need to mix and mingle with people who have the power to hire you or who can recommend you to people who do the hiring. And you need to make a good impression.
Of course, having a parent, uncle, cousin, or family friend who works in the business or has the right contacts never hurts either. The right words in the right ear can open doors.
