Your year gap isn't going to be any issue when it comes to appearing for SBI PO,its eligibility is based on graduation in any discipline from a recognized University with no specific aggregate, SBI PO consists of three stages which are prelims,mains and group exercise plus interview.

During personal interview round in admission, they may ask you why you left engineering and why you chose mass communication that's it.
