Both the colleges are situated in UP, where KNIT is is AKTU affiliated and MMM is autonomous college. And these both are counted as a top engineering college of Up.

Still if you have to choose between these two then I will suggest you to choose MMM because MMM and HBTU is treated as a brand in UP. And ECE is also a good branch so I will suggest you to choose MMM.

You may change your branch, depending on the Policy of Department Change in your respective University as well as Eligibility and Merit Criteria. But thats strange, its usually the other way round, students aspire Electronics Engineering over Electrical. Electronics Engineering is not only a more relaxed and student friendly branch than Electrical Engineering, but at the same time has better career scope and placement prospects in Industry, Private, Public and Research Sectors.

You can definitely go for btec mechatronics after completing your diploma in electronic engineering since these are all interdisciplinary streams and mechatronics is a combination of mechanical, electrical, telecommunications, control and computer engineering.
