please help !! I am coming under oec (sc) category from kerala. So while applying for neet mds there is only obc,sc,st options. When i look in the central list of obc my caste comes under obc. But when i look in the list by kerala government, i come under oec-sc. So for neet mds which category should i choose ????
Hello,
For NEET MDS , here's the clarification regarding your category:
-
Central List of OBC : Your caste appears under OBC, but this is based on the central government's classification.
-
Kerala Government List : In Kerala's list, you fall under the OEC-SC category, which is specific to the state's classification.
-
- Since NEET is a central-level exam, the classification that matters is based on the central government’s policies.
- If you are applying for the central quota, you should select the OBC category as per the central list, as the state’s OEC-SC classification may not apply for NEET MDS.
- If applying for state quota in Kerala, refer to Kerala's guidelines, which may accept your OEC-SC status.
-
Consult Kerala Authorities : It's advisable to confirm with the Kerala State authorities or the NEET MDS helpdesk to ensure accurate selection based on the state and central quota policies.
Hope it helps !

I got a eank of 52 in INICET -MDS Nov 2024 ...Do I hold a chance to get a seat ?
Hello Nikita,
With a rank of 52 in the INICET MDS November 2024, you have a promising chance of securing a seat, particularly in highly regarded institutions. Here are some key points to consider:
-
Past Cutoffs : Analyzing previous years' cutoffs for MDS courses shows that top ranks typically secure seats in reputable institutions, such as AIIMS New Delhi and JIPMER.
-
Seat Availability : The allocation depends on the seat matrix, which may vary by the number of seats and the category under which you apply.
-
Institution Preferences : Prioritize participation in all counseling rounds, as seats often become available as higher-ranked candidates finalize their choices.
-
Backup Planning : Consider options at newer or less competitive AIIMS campuses for better chances.
This combination should give you a clear pathway toward securing a spot in an esteemed dental institution.

is Neet MDS admissions over? since tye cut off just reduced
Hello,
The NEET MDS admissions for 2024 are not over yet . Recently, the Ministry of Health lowered the qualifying cut-off percentile for NEET MDS 2024 by 21.692 percent across all categories. This reduction means more students are now eligible for postgraduate dental programs. As a result, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is reopening the registration for NEET MDS counselling
If you are eligible after the cut-off reduction, you can still apply during the reopened counselling period, which will fill the remaining seats, including stray vacancies . Keep an eye on the MCC's official website for updates on the counselling schedule.
Hope it helps !
After the recent revised cut off of mds 2024, i looked for applying eligibility certificate from mgr university but it seems like the application has been closed my doubt is if there any further state counselling happens how do we get in without mgr university eligibility certificate
Hey there! Thanks for reaching out to Careers360 about this. I understand your concern about the MDS 2024 situation.
Oof, that's a tricky spot you're in with the MGR University eligibility certificate application being closed. I can see why you're worried about future state counselling.
To be honest, the eligibility certificate is usually pretty crucial for state counselling. But don't panic just yet - sometimes there are exceptions or alternative processes, especially if there have been recent changes to cut-offs or timelines.
Here's what I'd suggest:
1. Try contacting MGR University directly. They might have some guidance for students in your situation.
2. Keep an eye out for any announcements from the state counselling authority. They might address this issue if other students are in the same boat.
3. It might be worth checking with other MDS aspirants or recent candidates on forums or social media groups. Sometimes other students have helpful info or workarounds.
If you'd like, I can try to find some more specific information about the MDS counselling process in your state. Just let me know if that would be helpful.
Hang in there! These admission processes can be stressful, but there's often a solution if we dig a bit deeper.
i was unable to lock choices in round 4 mds counseling ...so will it be automatically locked? because it is still showing unlocked
Hello aspirant,
If you were unable to lock your choices in Round 4 MDS counseling and it's still showing unlocked, you should contact the counseling authorities immediately.
There might be a technical glitch or a specific reason why you couldn't lock your choices. It's important to address this issue promptly to avoid losing your seat or facing any other consequences.
Here are some steps you can take:
- Contact Counseling Authorities: Reach out to the relevant counseling authorities through their helpline, website, or email. Explain your situation and ask for assistance in locking your choices.
- Check for Deadlines: Ensure that you are within the deadline for locking your choices. If the deadline has passed, you may need to explore other options or wait for the next round.
- Technical Issues: If you suspect a technical issue, provide as much detail as possible to the authorities so they can troubleshoot the problem.
By taking these steps, you can hopefully resolve the issue and ensure that your choices are locked in for Round 4 MDS counseling.
I hope this information helps you.
Is one required to pay both seat discontinuation and bond penalty, if they decide to leave in the 1st year itself in a government MDS college?
Hello there,
If a student decides to leave a government MDS (Master of Dental Surgery) college in the first year, they may be required to pay both the seat discontinuation fee and the bond penalty, depending on the specific rules and regulations of the college or the state government.
Key Points to Consider:
-
Seat Discontinuation Fee: Many government MDS colleges charge a seat discontinuation fee if a student decides to leave the course after securing admission. This fee is meant to compensate for the seat that could have been offered to another candidate.
-
Bond Penalty: If the college has a bond agreement (usually to ensure that students serve in certain areas or institutions for a specified period), breaking the bond may result in a penalty. This is common in government medical and dental colleges to ensure that graduates serve in public health sectors.
Check Specific College Guidelines:
-
College Rules:
The exact requirements can vary by college and state, so it's crucial to review the admission documents, bond agreement, and college guidelines.
-
State Regulations:
Some states may have specific policies regarding penalties and bond enforcement, which can influence whether both fees are applicable.
I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.
Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.
