Dear sir/mam I am a diploma passout student in the stream of mechanical automobile(lateral entry)and now I want to do b.tech form Marine science,so how can get admission in it. and is there another good option bassed on my eligibility.
International Maritime Academy offers admission to Diploma candidates to get admission in B.tech in Marine Engineering course directly in second year through lateral entry examination. The minimum eligibility criteria is that a candidate should have done diploma in mechanical, electrical or automobile engineering and should have No Color Blindness, (+) or (-) 2.5 vision is allowed. Eye Glasses permitted.
I hope this helps
UIT-RGPV have workshops for mechanical automobile branch or not?
According to the reviews of students, RGPV doesn't have any labs for mechanical automobile engineering students. Also, there is no separate department building for the automobile branch, sometimes the classes are conducted in mechanical department and sometimes in labs.
Thank you!
which course is available in this Institute? It is mentioned that mechanical automobile engineering course is available. But, I am confused in this. please let me know whether it is Mechanical engineering or automobile engineering
.
Mahatma Gandhi mission's jawaharlal Nehru engineering college, Aurangabad Doesn't provide automobile course. It provides only mechanical course and various Courses in B.E/B.TECh. so, the college has only mentioned mechanical course. Get to the link for more details

If has a great passion for cars and its engines.Which is the best branch for him mechanical, automobile or automotive engineering
Hi Vinay,
According to me, if you have a great passion for cars and their engines you should go for Automotive Engineering because:-
- Mechanical Engineering is an old and a broad branch for study of all types of machines. Its applications are design, analysis, manufacturing and maintenance of mechanical systems.
- Automobile Engineering is specialisation course for study of all types of automobiles or vehicles. Its applications are vehicle designing, repairing, testing and assembling.
- Automotive engineering is very much similar to Automobile Engineering. Specifically, this course focuses on engineering of cars. Its applications are mechanical, thermodynamic, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical principles with an aim to resolve engineering problems of cars.

how are core branch of private clg in west bengal??
Hello Aarav,
The placements are not so good, they are just average. Although there is a great name and value of these colleges, and will help you in future(off campus placements) however, not so good placement wise. Infrastructure is quite good in most of the colleges, most of the faculties are regional, there is good sports and library facilites.

Is metallurgy a chore branch? if not to which stream it belongs to?
Hello Bhandhavi, yes metallurgy is a core branch and it is a seperate one, often combined with material sciences,it is emerging as one of the top courses one can take in engineering, if offers good paying jobs but the jobs are little in require of man power and hardwork.
Hope this helps.
Thank you.
can we consider metallurgy as a chore subject or it is a sub stream of which branch?
Hello Yugal Kishore P
We do have metallurgy engineering so it can be considered as a chore subject. Also metallurgy is considered as a sub stream of mechanical engineering.
But the difference between metallurgy engineering and mechanical engineering is as follows.
- Mechanical engineering is a broad engineering specialization that involves the design, analysis, construction and maintenance of various machine systems or tools whereas Metallurgical engineering is an engineering field which deals with all kinds of metal related areas.
- Mechanical engineering field utilizes the principles of physics and material sciences for the concerned tasks whereas Metallurgical engineering is a field that involves the study of physical and chemical features of metals and its related issues.
Though they are related in some fields, but there exists dissimilarities.
Hope it helps you.
can metallurgy be considered as a sub stream chemical engineering?
Hey there
Metal is a crucial part of our industries band thus we need engineering who can extract them economically and efficiently for that we have metallurgy as a branch in engineering. They study about metals their physical and chemical properties. But one can't say it's a sub stream of chemical engineering. All engineering branches are related like in metallurgy itself we learn thermodynamics and same in mechanical engineering so then these branches will also be similar. But it's not like that chemical engineering is large scale chemist work and thus in making demineralised water to ammonia and etc we need chemical engineering. And for iron ores etc we need metallurgy both have different purposes.
Good luck
