But automobile is only study of automobile design related to that

While comes to mechatronics is a both mixture of electronic and mechanical where you will learn to desgde machine using higher implementation of electronics

Yes, you can write SSC JE Exam under Mechanical Engineering after doing B.Tech in Automobile Engineering. Any student who cleared B.Tech can write SSC JE Exam. SSC JE is an exam conducted by Staff Selection Commission. This exam is meant for the recruitment of Junior Engineers in various branches of Engineering including Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Quantity Surveying & Contracts.

Well technically we cannot compare apples and oranges but if you insist i would suggest engineering is the better option as you would get ample opportunities to explore your limits if you are serious about it

It depends on the University. But Generally the first year syllabus are the same for all the branches. The basics of engineering are taught in the first year.
