DMLT which is diploma in medical laboratory technology is a diploma course  for a duration of two years, basically it's a branch of paramedical science which helps in diagnosing, testing  and treating of various ailments, the learner gains in-depth knowledge of using laboratory technologies, equipment and at the same time gain experiences in effective use of various machines such as that of X-Ray/MRI/CT Scan etc, when it comes to the course curriculum the learners gets detailed knowledge pertaining to biochemistry, pathology, microbiology, blood bank, immunology, fundamentals of haematology etc, and its application in implementation of health care systems.

The eligibility criteria to pursue DMLT is passed 10+2 from a recognized board with physic, chemistry, biology securing 45% or above depending upon the norms of the colleges, admission process may vary it can be either be based on the merit of the qualifying examinations or done through entrance test, some of the universities offering this course are St John's University, Aligarh Muslim University, Sikkim Manipal University,Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research(Kolkata, GMC Amritsar, Government TD Medical College(Alappuzha) to name a few.
