It happens when there is sloughing endometrial lining and its blood . To continue the process of menstrual cycle primordial follicles begin to develop and start the follicular phase again in hopes of a pregnancy.
This cycle is regulated by LH and FSH which are produced by the pituitary gland, promote ovulation and stimulate the ovaries to produce estrogen and progesterone .
