Eligibility Criteria to join Merchant Navy in India

• Firstly you should have Science with subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in class 12th, and you have to pass it with 60% aggregate.
• You should also have English with 50% marks.
• You should be unmarried during the joining.
• Normal Vision is required (i.e 6/6) but glasses up to plus or minus 2.5 is allowed.
• Age should be at least 17 at the time of joining and should not be more than 22 years at the time of application.

How to apply

• You have to clear IMUCET (Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test).
• Admission is through the entrance followed by a screening test and a main written examination.
• After clearing the test, there is an interview and a medical test.
• Prior to starting the job, you must also undergo a ship-training course. The course is usually brief, and the candidates are taught the fundamentals of voyaging security.

Yes, you are eligible for Merchant Navy as you are already doing a degree or diploma course in Aviation and Hospitality Tourism which helps you in development in Aviation and tourism management. The eligibility for Merchant Navy is that you must pass your 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics compulsory.

Now as you have PCB and no mathematics then you aren't eligible for the Merchant Navy.

If you want to do Merchant Navy then you can pursue your 10+2 in open schooling with Mathematics at NIOS.

To become a 3rd officer in Merchant Navy, you must have Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as separate subjects in your class 12 with average marks not less than 60%. Then you can do Diploma in Nautical Science and then BSc in Nautical Science. After completing the college you can go to sea as a cadet and complete the training then sit for exams, give interview and get the 2nd mate license and sail as a 3rd officer.

IMU-CET 2021 registration form will be available through online mode. Candidates will be able to fill the application form for IMU-CET 2021 from May 2021.  The last date to submit the application form will be 2nd  week of June 2021.

The admit card will be available by 3rd week of june and the exam date will be released by 1st week of July 2021.
