can metallurgy be considered as a sub stream chemical engineering?
Hey there
Metal is a crucial part of our industries band thus we need engineering who can extract them economically and efficiently for that we have metallurgy as a branch in engineering. They study about metals their physical and chemical properties. But one can't say it's a sub stream of chemical engineering. All engineering branches are related like in metallurgy itself we learn thermodynamics and same in mechanical engineering so then these branches will also be similar. But it's not like that chemical engineering is large scale chemist work and thus in making demineralised water to ammonia and etc we need chemical engineering. And for iron ores etc we need metallurgy both have different purposes.
Good luck
can metallurgy be considered as a sub stream of mechanical engineering?
Hello yugal
Can be said as much.. However, not so much.. Toward the finish of my answer I'll attempt to post the contrast between two. See mechanical is an evergreen branch, it's a branch that has been streaming since numerous years and different branches like metalurgical and so forth have recently experienced childhood in a proper way of time.
To my understanding, mechanical building, in itself, is managing the structure, development and real utilization of a specific machine. Also, metallurgical and materials building, in itself, is managing the physical and concoction cosmetics of metallic mixes.
On the off chance that you need to work with structuring, development, and genuine use of machines, to which I think would be the drawings or an arrangement indicating how a specific thing takes a shot at paper or in a PC. And after that the other, the metallurgical and materials designing, to my comprehension is managing genuine mixes and their cosmetics.
Mechanical building is an expansive designing specialization that includes the plan, examination, development and support of different machine frameworks or devices though Metallurgical building is a designing field which manages a wide range of metal related regions.
Mechanical building field uses the standards of physical science and material sciences for the concerned errands while Metallurgical designing is a field that includes the investigation of physical and substance highlights of metals and its related issues.
All the best
Per year how many students graduate from metallurgical and materials engineering in India?
Metallurgy and materials engineering is not so popular as computer science or mechanical engineering but there are students who get into this course and thrive. Speaking of total students graduating from India every year, the number was around 4000 a few years back but now probably it's increased to around 6000 per year. The exact data cannot be obtained anywhere so it's difficult to predict.
Good luck
IIT ROORKEE (METALLURGICAL AND MATERIALS ENGINEERING) VS IIT TIRUPATI (ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING) which one is better to choose ?
Hi Aspirant
A lot of students face this kind of dilemma during JOSAA counseling. The most important thing to be kept in mind is going for a branch that interests you more.
You should try to find out as much information as you can about these branches from people associated with these particular fields.
As far as colleges go IIT Roorkee would be better, but the branch plays a more significant role.
Hope this helps and All the Best.
IIT KGP Industrial and system engineering VS IIT BOMBAY Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Which one is better ?
Sir I get 93 percentiles in jeep main and my air tank is 96000 ,there is any chance to get admission in nits in civil engineering
Hi Himanshuraj,
As per your percentile of 93 in JEE Mains 2019 and rank 96000 you have some chance to get civil engg and Metallurgical and Materials Engg. in NIT Sikkim, Manipur, etc. Also you can check cutoff for civil engg and Metallurgiy and Material engg. with your respective state under home state category you may get seat in that NIT college. For checking cutoff rank details please reffer below link :

What about campus placements in NIT surathkal Metallurgical and Materials engineering branch ;NIT Trichy same branch
Hello Sir/Ma'am. If you’re looking for a better campus in terms of Infrastructure and maintenance, I’d say NIT Trichy. It’s more than twice the size of NITK. But NITK Campus is unique in its own way, and honestly, if you’re into the warm sunset and the sea breeze, the beach does trump everything. And the cultural festival Incident is a level apart. Both are more or less equal in terms of placement in the asked course.
