Im right now in 3rd year of my B.Sc in chemistry. Can I do metallurgy in M.Sc ?
Hi Aspirant!
No, you cannot join metallurgy after Bsc in chemistry. The courses which you can join after BSc in Chemistry are:
- MSc Appiled Chemistry
- Msc inorganic chemistry
- Msc organic chemistry
- Msc physical chemistry
- Msc phrmaceutical chemistry
- MSc bio chemistry
- MSc Analytical chemistry
- MSc applied chemistry etc.
But if you are really interested to start your careers in a metallurgical field then I would suggest you to join MSc inorganic chemistry, it focuses on the study and analysis of inorganic and organometallic compounds. Top recruiting areas include Metallurgy firms , Battery manufacturing firms, and research labs.
Thankyou!

can i get metallurgy or mining branch in bit sindri with 87.5 %tile in jee mains (obc)?
Hello aspirant, according to JCECE final state merit list of 2020 your CML rank will be around 790. You have high probability of getting lower branches like metallurgy or mining in Bit Sindri. Due to OBC category you can also get civil branch. Although your CML rank will completely depend on the percentile of other applicants but you still have a good chance.
You can also improve your score in upcoming JEE exam session 4.

i am from uttar pradesh. i should take mnit allahabad mechanical or i will go for NIT Trichy metallurgy and material science or NIT warangal chemical.
Hey aspirant,
I wouldn't be able to suggest you with which branch you should go for. As,this is a really important decision amongst the students. You should only go with that branch in which you feel you are more comfortable and interested. It's but obvious that you wouldn't want to waste your 4 years of life in studying something in which you are not at all interested.
Also now, talking about these three colleges on the basis of their placement statistics then the highest package offered by MNNIT allahabad is 36lpa and average is 7lpa.
for a brief knowledge of placement statistics of MNNIT please refer to the link mentioned below-
Whereas the Highest package offered by NIT TRICHY till date is 52lakhs whereas usually it ranges around 25-35lpa and average ranges around 7-8lpa.
For more details you can refer to the link mentioned below-
Now, talking about NIT warangal then the highest package offered is 43lpa and average ranges around 12lpa.
For more detailed information about placement statistics of NIT warangal please refer to the link mentioned below-

Now, at last I would say that all these colleges are at good place in terms of placement so on the basis of your interested branch you can go for any one of these. :)
Hope it helps!
All the best!

Hello Aspirant,
If we go through the analysis of marks Vs Percentile Vs rank for JEE-Main 2020 then according to the percentile mentioned by you in the question your CRL rank is expected to be in the range of 552420 - 621000 , you can check out marks Vs ranks Vs Percentile from the link given below :-
https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-marks-vs-percentile
Or
You can also use JEE-Main Rank Predictor to predict your rank :-
https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor
As we go through the latest cut-offs of JEE-Main 2020 of JOSAA 6th round then it shows that :-
Closing OBC PwD rank for NIT Warangal was :-
- Metallurgical and Materials Engineering branch - 818 (Home state quota)
So you have quite less or almost no chances to get NIT Warangal with Metallurgical and Materials Engineering branch even if you have Home state quota.
But yes if you improve your percentile in any further session of JEE-Main like around 60-70 then you might have a shot at NIT Warangal for Metallurgical and Materials Engineering.
You can check out the latest cut-offs from the link given below :-
https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx
Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of latest cut-offs available on official website of JOSAA or CSAB and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.
