I hope my answer will be helpful for you
Good luck
my gate score is 547 ee branch (obc). Is there any chance of getting microelectronics/ embedded system in any of bits campuses ?
Hey aspirant,
Hope you are doing great....!!!
Depending upon the number of applicants the GATE Score cut off for BITS varies and also depends on the fact how you choose your preference both campus wise and branch wise (for Electronics we have: Micro, Embedded, and Communication) usually PILANI campus cut off is a bit higher, during my counseling time in 2108 it was around 650–700 for BITS Goa, so you can expect higher for Pilani. Nonetheless, you can apply for the BITS HD paper as well since it can help you boost your preference for Campus/ Streamwise.
I hope this helps you!
All the best:)
Bits Hyderabad GATE cutoff for ME in microelectronics or communication
Hello aspirant,
I hope that you are doing absolutely great.
With reference to your above mentioned query, i would like to tell you that it is quite difficult to predict precisely the GATE qualifying Cutoff for BIT Hyderabad that yo would require to get ME in Microelectronics or communication. This is because the GATE Cutoff varies every year and is different for different category students.
The Qualifying GATE Cutoff depends on several factors like :
-
Performance of the candidate GATE exam.
-
Category of the candidates
-
Previous cutoff trends
However, looking at the previous year cutoff trends, in order to get Me or Mtech in Microelectronics or communication, you would need a minimum GATE Score of around 350-500 To be on the safer side.
Further, you can also read the GATE Previous year cutoff to know more about the details : https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/gate-cutoff
I hope that this will help.
I got 126 score in manipal post graduation entrance test. Can I expect microelectronics?
Hello Aspirant,
To get microelectronics, you need to score marks above 140 for microelectronics. Microelectronics is offered by manipal university which is a 4 semester degree program and the cut off for this course is generally higher as per last year cut off trend.
You can appear for the exam again and try to score above 140 to be on safer side and you will definitely get admission in the college.
If you want to know the cutoff trend of Manipal post graduation entrance test you can visit the following link I am attaching here:

How good is M.Tech in electronics and communication engineering branch at IISC bangalore , placement wise? And should I take it or reattempt gate and try for microelectronics and vlsi branch next year?
hi,
IISC bangalore is best with oldest iits like iit kharagpur, iit bombay, iit delhi. the average placement package offered is 11 lpa. highest packages offers is 27 lpa. however admission to iisc bangalore m.tech admission is gate score follows by interview. you will get stipend of 12,400 while studying 2 years m.tech.
annual m.tech fees is 29200.
however day by day gate question paper level is changing, so you must study well to achieve a good gate score above 700+ to get call from top level institute.
hope it would help.
I have attempted gate 2021 and my score is 431. Is there a possibility that I will get a seat in bits Pilani campus for ME in microelectronics through my gate score without having to attempt BITSHD exam??
BITS Pilani's cut-off is generally high. Based on the branch that you are looking for it is highly unlikely to get into BITS. Last year the cut-off was 650+.
It is usually best for candidates to apply for the BITS HD exam which is comparatively easier than GATE.
Please access the below link for the various other campuses and branches that you can apply for as per your rank.

I hope this clarifies your query.
Thank you and all the best!
As every IITS will conduct interview for mtech admissions. So what kind of questions one can expect in the interviews for microelectronics and VLSI?
Hi Alok,
In interview, first they will start with the basic introduction for 1 minute and next they might ask "why do you want to do M.Tech?". Next, they will expect basics of electronics and questions based on them especially sequential circuits. In semiconductor devices be very thorough with the concepts of Fermi level and carrier concentration. Later, they might ask you from the topics : scedra and smith, biasing a transistor, small signal models, opamp based circuits and feedback. These are the main topics they might ask questions from. Last, they will do some interaction with you like about your hometown or your hobbies etc.
Hope it helps, thankyou!
Which one is better nit Trichy vlsi or bits pilani microelectronics in terms of placements?
hi,
I assume you are asking for m.tech in vlsi placement in nit trichy or bits pilani. see both of the institute is excellent in terms of placement record for vlsi and microelectronics. in nit trichy vlsi placement percentage is 95.2 according to 2019-2020 records. according to students review bits pilani placement statistics is around 100% as per previous years records. so you may choose any of the institute as per your convenience, fees and hostel charges.
hope you understand.
