It is not that way. Your final impression is what matters the most. You meed to be very smart enough when you go for interviews and campus placements GDs or PIs that some of your weaknesses of [ast that you are worried about get overshadowed by your Personality. If you are talented enough now and can answer all the questions that they ask and promise all that they need  as per your Btech education then dont worry this 10th or 12th marks wont be a hurdle in your placements. But yes if you are struggling in the interview, then these thinngs also can come into notice to judge you more.

It is very much probable that the VIT admission authorities may conduct counseling through online platforms such as Microsoft teams/zoom/jiochat/webex/Meet. The condition of this pandemic is not such that people and students can traverse a long distance to do counseling which can be done even online. But the last decision rests in the hands of the authorities.

Since you have already got admission in the college then during placements your college result would be what matters more. Of course they will also ask for board results as well.

Now the companies do not keep in mind just the result of the candidates but also the performance of the said student in their selection process.

For example they may start with an online test, proceed with a group discussion and then do the final round with personal interview. So the candidates must perform well there as well for getting a job.

Overall not only academic progress but extracurricular activities and the performance of candidates are evaluated for getting a job.
