Choose which branch suits you better or in other words, which branch you actually want to study. Choose a branch to which you are little more inclined for and go ahead with that. Search about the course, what they actually compile of. Here I'm sharing you the link about both of these courses for your betterment.

Again, if you do not have any inclination towards any of these branches, then do one thing, compare the colleges based on various factors like - campus, infrastructure, academics, co curriculum activities, involvement in various Clubs and Societies. Whichever college suits better, choose that. In this case NIT Rourkela stands far better than MANIT Bhopal and NIT Raipur.

I think you are misunderstood or misinformed.

There are only 6 branches offered by NIT Silchar in B.Tech.

These branches are-

1. Civil Engineering

2. CSE 

3. Electrical Engineering

4. ECE

5. Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering

6. Mechanical Engineering

Even if you check the JoSSA Round 5 cutoff, there is no mention of Mining or Metallurgical Engineering.

The university will conduct entrance test that is named as ou cet and after completion of admissions provide also hostel facility .

And then the fee is categories wise decided on(5100) SC(4500) St(4500) and of candidates fully to pay for hostel .

This is not final state government can release through the MTF .
