Dear candidate, it is clearly mentioned in Student-policies of VSB college on Pg-5 under rules and regulations of hostel students:

"Electronic instruments such as Cell Phone, walkman, Radio, CDs etc., should not be used inside the Hostel"

So, it is not allowed.

Assuming that you study in a college/university, ofcourse mobile phone are allowed. It is a necessity especially when you're living alone away from family and no one can deny that.

Although in school hostels, they might be not allow phones, that fully depends on the school.

Giving  exam on laptop or desktop is more preferable and effective than on mobile phone. As the display is not big enough , it may create problems while giving the exam. Now the only thing is that , are you having a laptop or not. If yes , then you should attempt you examination on laptop. If no , then attempting on mobile phone is the only option.

Hope you are doing great as per the question asked by you no you can't write SRMJEE on phone as it will create alot of problem while giving exam as display will not be proper and it will create wastage of time. You should attempt your SRMJEE entrance in laptop or desktop then it will be more better as it will create more effective attempt of examination and will also be good for connectivity.

Generally hostels of schools doesn't allow its students to carry phones or other electronic gadgets but college hostels or university hostel do allow there students to carry phones with them.

Yes, mobile phones are allowed in every hostel, it is necessary for someone who's living away from home, if you're talking about a school hostel then it maybe not allowed. Any place other than a school, mobile phones cannot be prohibited.

Yes definitely, you can use a mobile phone in hostels as it is okay to use the phone because students can call their parents, teachers and friends. Also, some students don't have laptops so they can do their important work from mobiles phones only. So the phone is a must in hostels but in some hostels, it is prohibited like there is a Gurukul in Mathura which does not allow their students to carry mobile phones with themselves and also in boarding schools too.
