how much percentage should one get in order to get into nit??
Hello Aspirant,
See there is no any minimum percentile required to be eligible for admission in NITs for any category because the seat allotment process is based on the rank of candidate but if you are General candidate and wants to get into any NIT then you should at least try for 96-98 percentile in JEE-Main 2021 . See the qualifying cut-off percentiles which needs to be cleared by any candidate to sit in JEE-Advance is released along with the final result of JEE-Main and for JEE-Main 2021 the final result will be released after all four attempts will be completed and the final result will be on the basis of your best score amongst different attempts. However basis on previous year's cut-off trends we can help you with the expected qualifying cut-offs for this year :-
- Common Rank List (CRL) - 90- 95 Percentile
- GEN-EWS - 70- 75 Percentile
- Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL) - 70- 75 Percentile
- Scheduled Caste (SC) - 50- 55 Percentile
- Scheduled Tribe (ST) - 40- 45 Percentile
- PwD - 1-2 Percentile
Note that in above table it is not the actual cut-off for JEE-Main 2021 but expected on the basis of previous year's analysis. You can check out previous year's cut-off trends from the link given below :-

expected cutoff for mechanical in iiit Hyderabad and nit jamshedpur in mechanical branch in year 2021
As far as IIIT Hyderabad is concerned, it has no Mechanical Department as such. The institute specializes in technologies like AI, Computer and Electronics Technology, Robotics and Automation.
NIT Jamshedpur, is perhaps one of the best institutes in Eastern India for Mechanical Engineering, next to IIT Kharagpur and IIEST Shibpur. The institute has good infrastructure, faculty and employer outlook. Unless you are from Home State, you need a Rank of about 20k (GEN), to confirm your seat at NIT JSR Mechanical. For Home State Aspirants, a rank of atleast 30k is desired for confirming your seat at NIT JSR Mechanical. For more information regarding cutoff do follow the link below

mechanical at NIT surat or NIT Bhopal or NIT Jamshedpur.pls give an order of preference!!
Nit Surat is best for b.tech in mechanical engineering. And nit Bhopal and nit jamshedpur are at same level in placements and atmosphere .
The highest package in nit Surat is 39.50 LPA.
Best of luck.
Hope it's helpful thankyou.
i have got 1262 rank in NIMCET, which college should i choose first in the choice filling? nit jamshedpur, nit Agartala, nit kurukshetra?
hello,
According to overall performance you should opt
1. NIT Kurushetra
2. NIT Jamshedpur
3. NIT Agartala
the locking of college preferences has been till 17th november. Hopefully you have filled in the same order. If not you don't have to worry as NIT jamshedpur and agartala are almost similar in all aspacts. The first round allotment will released on 26th november so untill then keep calm.
all the very best!!
NIT Srinagar CSE vs NIT Jamshedpur/Raipur Metallurgy. Which is better.
Hey friend!
If you are college specific, then NIT Jamshedpur/ Raipur are better than NIT Srinagar in terms of labs, faculty and ranking.
But if you're branch specific; Then you should CSE Branch as average Package is 7.3 lakhs in Nit Srinagar.
Cse branch has more career options than metallurgy.

Hey Aspirant,
At first I would like to inform you that without officially released cut-off marks of top and eminent NITs for this year by NTA (National Testing Agency) , we can't make any accurate statement about the precise cut-off marks of any NIT.

can I get nit patna or nit hamirpur or nit Jamshedpur in csab counciling in ece branch my crl rank in jee mains is 30300 and obc ncl rank is 7194 please ans my question I am from Andhra Pradesh
Given the previous year's CSAB special round 1 cutoff for OBC-NCL (other state), you have a good probability of securing a seat in ECE at one of the NITs listed above. The deadline is as follows:
Hamirpur-26639, National Institute of Technology
Patna's National Institute of Technology (NIT) 27264.
Jamshedpur National Institute of Technology (NIT): 22896
I have secured 3830 rank in jee main obc category .which would be good: nit tricky civil branch or nit jamshedpur cse
Hello aspirant , hope you are doing good.
Firstly , congratulations for your outstanding rank in JEE Mains, it's exceptional ranking so great and I'm sure you did your best. Now, both the colleges you wanted to compare are NITs and so both of them are obviously are out of the bests in the country. But if you really have to choose between civil engineering and computer science engineering, I'll personally suggest you to opt for computer science engineering if you are getting that. Computer science is undoubtedly the most important branch of engineering, in my opinion ofcourse, and it's growth is increasing in a very rapid rate. The demands are really high too, and this branch usually has the highest placements in most colleges. So, yes definitely i would suggest you to opt for CSE in NIT jamshedpur.
You can get the detailed comparison here:
