i got 98.172 percentile in jee mains, can i get in CSE in NIT Silchar or NIT Agartala? Which one should i prefer ?
Hello Aspirant,
Predictions are made based on previous year cut off trends but the original result may vary as cut off is declared based on different factors like,
- Number of candidates that appeared for the exam
- The performance of the candidates
- The highest and the lowest cut-off vary for every shift
- Availability of seats and your category etc...,.
With the rank provided by you, your rank varies in the range of 18700-21022.
According to the cut off trends of NIT Agartala for CSE in open category (as you did not mention the category you belong to) ,
- BE Computer Science and Engineering - 5878
According to the cut off trends of NIT Silchar for CSE in open category ,
- BE Computer Science and Engineering - 3934 (other state)

I got 92.613%le in JEE MAINS 2021 (Im General Category and my Home State is Assam) I will be getting a seat in NIT Silchar in JoSAAA but I want a seat in NIT Rourkela. Can I get a seat in NIT Rourkela in CSAB rounds as last year many seats got vacant for NIT Rourkela??
Dear Student,
There is little to no chance of getting NIT Rourkela with the JEE Mains score of 92.613 percentile in the CSAB rounds. The seats always gets filled during the counselling and some students leave the college after the counselling thus creating the "vacancy". So the chances of getting a seat in NIT Rourkela is low. You may try other NITs and as you have mentioned you will get a seat in NIT Silchar so congrats!
Good Luck!
what is the minimum mark required for st category in jee main to admission nit silchar
Dear Student,

Hi
Your profile suggests that you are from Assam, so assuming you would have done 12th from Assam so you will be eligible for home state quota in NIT Silchar
With 70 percentile
-
your rank will be around 306900 - 345000 as per our rank predictor at https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor
Your st rank will be around 8k
I am extremely sorry to tell you but with above predicted rank you have a very low chance in NIT Silchar in mechanical or any branch even under home state quota
For example,

You can check the same at
https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

I am getting CSE branch in NIT Silchar. My dream is to get into an IIT but my preparation for jee advanced is not so good. So should I take a drop? ( I dont believe in partial drop)
See if you are determined about your career ahead then I would recommend you to obviously take a drop because as IIT is the place you want to study and if its in your passion then you should prepare very well in this drop year. It may seem that one year will pass by but always remember if you get into your dream college all this hard work will pay its value. Now let me say a fact, IIT's or a degree don't give you a job. Its good that you want to be in IIT but you should be aware that you like CSE as well and you are enthusiastic about the subject because if you get selected then you have to deal with CSE subjects. So made it clear that you are interested for IIT and the subject or you are just participating in the race of fame. If the answer is that you are interested in CSE and to get a better scope and structure you want to be at IIT then you should take a drop year and let me assure this will drive you very good towards the success.
