i got 99.1996683 in jee mains and my category is obc ncl,can i get csc in nit trichy

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 25th Aug, 2021

Hi

With 99.1996683 percentile

Your obc rank will be around 1600- 1800.

It is quite difficult to make prediction but yes as per past year trend ,

In 6th round of josaa counselling 2020, closing  rank for obc category for gender neutral is given below :-

NIT Trichy :- computer science

  • Under home state:- 2008 obc rank

  • Under other state :- 242 obc rank

So, you have chances for computer science in NIT Trichy only if you have home state quota

You  can check the same at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

This above prediction is on the past year data basis but  cut closing rank for colleges changes every year depending upon factors like number of candidates that write jee main examination, difficulty level of the question paper for different shifts of jee main etc so

To have a personalised report on your chances of getting a college you can go through our college predictor, it will give you complete list of colleges which you can get on the basis of the category you belong to,  your home state, your gender etc, the link for  jee main college predictor is provided below

i got 79.86 in jee main belong to sc category female can i join in NIT Trichy or nit Warangal or nit Tadepalligudem

Ayush Roy 24th Aug, 2021

Hello, Praneetha. You mentioned you have secured 79.86 in JEE Main and you belong to SC category. Based on your percentile, your AIR should be within the range of 206032 - 231610. As per records and your rank, you have tough chances to get admission in any of  NITs including Trichy, Warangal and Tadepalligudem, even if you are SC candidate. Although there is a very slight possibility for you to get chance in B.Tech in Production Engineering (2019 Cutoff - 200763) and Civil Engineering (2019 Cutoff - 226100 ) at NIT Trichy . If you are lucky enough then you may get that narrow window of opportunity in the final round or mop-up round even though I am afraid I cannot firmly say that will likely to happen.

I suggest you to attempt the upcoming phase of JEE Main and fetch better marks. Try to achieve at least 85 percentile to be in the safe zone.

How much percentile should an st category student should get in jee mains paper 2 b arch to get admission in NIT Calicut or NIT Trichy?

Sharon Rose Student Expert 16th Aug, 2021

Hello,

Last year the cut off rank for admission to Architecture in round 6 was as follows for ST category under other state quota for the preferred NITs

  • National Institute of Technology Calicut: 66
  • National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli: 65

Considering the previous year cut off you need to secure a rank (category rank) around 65. To secure such rank you need to score minimum 98-99 percentile or above in JEE Main. Cut off is subjected to change it may increase or decrease depending on the total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc.

To check the previous year cut off click on the link below

how much percentile should i have to get into nit Trichy in civil engineering and i belong to st category and other state

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 15th Aug, 2021

Hi

This is very  difficult to predict as cut off  keeps changing every year  depending upon various factors like

  • number of students that appeared in the exam,

  • kind of marks obtained by them ,

  • toughness level of the jee main examination ,

  • number of seats available for the branch you want etc.

But yes,

When we go through previous year trend then ,

In round 6 of josaa counselling 2020 , for civil Engineering  under other state ,closing rank for gender neutral for  for other state in in nit trichy which is the top most NIT is given below :-

So, you must target at least 96 percentile being from St category for NIT Trichy for civil engineering under other state

For closing rank checkout

Hlo, I have got 99.67 percentile in jee mains 2021 and I belong to SC category. What will be my probable category rank? Can I get NIT Trichy CSE, NIT Warangal CSE etc.? What will be my probable CRL? Which branch can I get if I dont want to use category benefit?

Tanmay V 12th Aug, 2021

Dear Aspirant,

With 99.67 percentile in JEE Mains 2021 CRL Rank would be around: 3376 - 3795

JEE Mains Rank predictor tool:

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor

Now this is a quite good score and rank, considering SC category & according to previous year records of closing ranks there are  chances for CSE Seat in NIT Warangal, NIT Trichy and all other NITs.

If you don't avail SC Category then with this CRL Rank you might get CSE Seat in NIT Trichy if you belong to Home State quota , if not you may get other branches like Electrical  and Electronics(EEE) , Electronics  and Communication Engineering (ECE) in NIT Trichy as well as NIT Warangal.

Check-

JEE Mains College Predictor  tool:

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer

Also you can check all previous year cutoffs (closing ranks) for all NITs,IIITs , GFTIs on official JOSAA Website :

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Hope this helps.

What should be the expected mark to be scored in the jee main 4th session to get a Cse seat in Nit trichy for OBC category students?

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 9th Aug, 2021

Hi

This is a bit difficult to predict the marks/percentile/rank required in JEE mains to get a seat in nit  as cut off  keeps changing every year  depending upon various factors like  number of students that appeared in the exam, kind of marks obtained by them , toughness level of the jee main examination , number of seats available for the branch you want etc.

When we go through previous year trend then ,

In round 6 of josaa counselling 2020 , under other state gender neutral to get computer science engineering   , closing rank  in nit trichy for different categories is provided below:-

Category                      closing Rank

General/open                   781

EWS                                    153

OBC ncl                              242

SC                                         198

ST                                         51

In above data , rank for general /open represents crl while rank for rest of the categories represent category rank

You can check the same at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

So, for open state, for obc category 242 was  closing obc rank , and 242 obc rank is around 1000 common rank i. e around 99.91 percentile which is around 260 marks as per predictor at

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor

So, you must target at least 260 marks .

Above prediction  is on the basis of past year data but  cut off/closing rank for colleges keeps changing every year depending upon many factors like number of students that appeared in the examination etc so
