The admission is based on All India Rank secured in JEE Main. You need to apply for JAC counselling and participate in it. It seems to be a bit difficult to get into NIT Trcihy based on the marks you got.96 marks could fetch you a rank around 42000-52000(based on previous year analysis).But you can get admission into other NITs or good colleges in the category you provided.

NIT Trichy is a prominent Indian institute matching the world standards in the group of NIT'S. I think you can get the seat in nit with this this percentage in sc/st category. It may depend on others percentage also. For suppose some other people also got 80 percent as like you, but there's  a difference in the rank. So they compare the two ranks and take the highest rank. For other categories u must need to score 93 percent above.

The SC Other State Cutoffs for your preferred options are as follows,

CSE Trichy 51

CSE Surathkal 101

ECE Trichy 239

ECE Surathkal 338

SC/ST Rank somewhat varies with the CRL across years. But I would advice you to secure a ST Rank in this Range, you must target atleast a CRL between 50-60k, and hence, a Corresponding ST Rank enough to secure a great seat at NIT Trichy, Surathkal as well as Warangal and other Top NITs. For a CRL between 50-60k, you mist target a Percentile anywhere around 95 or a Corresponding score anywhere around 100-110/300 in JEE Main Attempt.

Sem 2= Rs 62,500

Sem 7= Rs 73,750

Hope you are doing great as per the question asked by you, your rank according to your percentile will be around 65,000-70,000 in generally category and your E.W.S rank will be around 7,000-8,000 you will definetly get N.I.T based on your Gen E.W.S rank. With this you will get N.I.T trichy if and only if you have any home state quota else it will be difficult.

As we go through the latest cut-offs of JEE-Main 2020 of JOSAA 6th round then it shows that :-

Closing OBC rank for NIT Trichy was :-
