1.How many ranks available for girls in Indian navy for permanent commission?.. 2.Which rank according to you is best for girls as a permanent commision in navy?.. (I opted for PCM in 11th & will do B-tech or BE)..Im a girl..
In defence forces, a permanent commission entitles an officer to serve in the Indian Navy till they retire. The short service commission on the other hand, is currently for 10 years and can be extended by four more years.
The supreme court has ordered the center to implement the permanent commission but its still on hold. The judgment was based on a case filed by 17 women SSC officers who were denied PC and discharged despite completing 14 years of service as SSC officers.
I hope this helps.
