Hello,
It is difficult to predict cutoff for various medical colleges of Karnataka for the year 2020. However, what can be said is that the cutoff will be comparatively higher this year than the previous years.
The following is the cutoff for 2019 for government medical colleges in Karnataka
- General Category: 443
- OBC : 426
- SC: 343
- ST: 410
Now this is previous year's cutoff and the cutoff varies every year based on various factors, and you can expect a higher Cutoff for this year.

I missed the deadline to register on IPU website for Delhi state counselling. Very anxious about what to do now. Does the registration window reopen after NEET results declaration? Somebody told me that in 2019, it was reopened after NEET results were declared. Please guide!
It is true that last year, IPU had reopened its registration window. But this year it is unknown. From this year, seats of IPU will be filled through All India Counselling and like last year, IPU might open its registration window. There has been no official information regarding this. So please watch out for official information regarding this.
What is the procedure to apply in Medical colleges in India for MBBS course after NEET results are declared?
Mehul, In India,w e have Government Medical Colleges, Private Medical Colleges and Deemed/Central Universities. And admission to these Institutions is conducted through All India Counselling and State Counselling. Private Medical Colleges do not participate in All India Counselling and the seats are filled through State Counselling alone. And for appearing for State Counselling you need to hold the domicile of that particular State. Or else the only other option is through Management Quota. Under All India Quota, All the 15% of All India Quota Seats except for Jammu and Kashmir, 100% Seats at Deemed and Central Universities, IP Quota seats in ESIC Colleges, Seats at AFMC, AIIMS and JIPMER are filled by DGHS. The 85% State Quota and Private Colleges are filled by the respective State Authorities. And there are 3 Categories in Private Medical Colleges. Category A is the Government Quota Seats. And only candidates of the home State are eligible to apply for these seats. B Category seats are also called Management Quota Seats and they are filled through State Counselling and the remaining seats are filled through direct Admissions by contacting the College directly provided the Candidate has registered for the respective State Counselling and has not been able to secure a seat in the Counselling. Here the fees is usually nothing less than 40 lakhs. The last Category is NRI seats Category and you cannot apply for that.
Now for both All India Counselling and State Counselling, you should register once the NEET merit list has been released. There will be Round 1, Round 2 and Mop up Round for Counselling. You need to register for Counselling. So the steps are:
- Appear for NEET and qualify
- Wait for the results and the merit list
- Register for Counselling by paying refundable and non refundable fees
- During Choice Locking, select Colleges that you want a seat in
- And once the seat has been alotted join the College if you like or participate in the further Rounds.
