I had one subject of Linguistics while I was doing M.A English. Am I eligible to appear Net /Set exam in Linguistics?
Hi,
Since your subject for Master's was English, you can only give NET/SET exam for English or related subjects.
You had one subject of Linguistics but it was not your specialization I assume. You are eligible for NET Linguistics only if you have completed your MA in Linguistics or any related field. Therefore you cannot give NET for Linguistics.
If you have any other query related to this, then do ask,
I have done M Tech in Electronics and Communication. I have to write NET exam. Which one I have to apply for? UGC NET or CSIR net?
Hi,
To appear for CSIR NET, engineering students have to complete their graduation, but for UGC NET, they must complete their MTech from their respective fields.
Since you have done MTech in Electronics and Communication (ECE), you are eligible for both the NET exams.
Some points to note here are-
UGC NET:
* The UGC-NET exam is required to be eligible for a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) or Assistant Professor position at an Indian university.
* Candidates who have earned at least a 55 percent grade point average (PG) or its equivalent from an accredited institution can apply for UGC NET.
* UGC-NET is conducted in 81 subjects mainly for Arts, Commerce and language.
CSIR NET:
* Only 5 disciplines are included on the CSIR-NET exam for students in the science stream.
* MTech Electronics and Communication graduates can apply under CSIR-NET Physical Sciences category.
* To appear for the exam, the candidates must have completed or pursuing the M-Tech degree.
You can apply accordingly along with checking other criteria mentioned in the guidelines. Feel free to ask any more doubts!
my masters is in clinical nutrition and dietetics can i give NET exam
Hello User,
Hope you are doing well.
Nutrition is included in the Home Science subject, so you can apply for the UGC NET exam with Home Science.
You should have masters’ degree to appear for the NTA NET exam with minimum 55% aggregate marks if they belong to General category or minimum 50% aggregate marks if they are from OBC/SC/ST/PwD/Transgender category. Candidates who are enrolled in the post-graduation can also apply for the UGC NET exam.
Aspirants must also follow age criteria for NET JRF i.e. 30 years. Reserved categories get the 5 years’ age relaxation.
For Assistant Professor there is no age criteria.

difference between net asset method and yield method
Hey
Method # 1. Net Asset Method :
This is also known as Balance Sheet Method or Intrinsic Method or Break-up Value Method or Valuation of Equity basis or Asset Backing Method. Here the emphasis is on the safety of investment as the investors always need safety for their investments. Under this method, net assets of the company are divided by the number of shares to arrive at the net asset value of each share.
value of net asset is:
Total of realisable value of assets – Total of external liabilities = Net Assets (Intrinsic value of asset)
Method # 2. Yield Method :
Under the Net Asset Method, the weightage is given on the safety of the investment. One, who invests money on shares, always needs safety. Even if the return is low, safety is always looked upon. At the same time under the yield method, the emphasis goes to the yield that an investor expects from his investment. The yield, here we mean, is the possible return that an investor gets out of his holdings—dividend, bonus shares, right issue. If the return is more, the price of the share is also more. Under this method the valuation of shares is obtained by comparing the expected rate of return with normal rate of return. For instance, if paid up value of a share is
Rs. 10 and expected rate of return is 9% while normal rate of return is 6%, then the value of shares will be Rs. 15.

What should I do if I want to give NET exam in 2023?
Hello,
You should start preparing well for the examination from now itself. You can join the various that suits. either you can for for the online classes or the offline classes or for the self study whatever you think is enough for you. First of all go though the correct syllabus of the NEET so that you are able to prepare well and no topic is left behind.
- Start a habit to study every day. With time you will be able to study for long hours without losing concentration.
- Give up mugging and lay emphasis on understanding concepts and applying them on problems.
- Work on your calculations in terms of accuracy and speed. Try to be accurate as well as fast. This needs practice.
- Improve your analytical skills. Try to solve the same problem with different methods.
- Make notes from the start of your preparation. You can include important points, shortcuts, formulas, reactions, mistakes, etc. Notes will help you in revision.
- Focus on learning time management, discipline, following a routine, and clearing basic concepts.
A study plan is the best idea that works perfectly for the competitive examinations So try to make a proper study plan:
-
Make a study routine, a timetable for NEET (https://mystudycart.com/neet-2023#time-table) , giving equal importance to Biology, Physics and Chemistry. Consistency is very important, instead of studying all night one day and sleeping on the next day, it is better to study for equal hours on both days. - Block your study time. Decide the hours of the day that are most suitable for you to study, and inform your family and friends that you will not be available during this time.
- Collect all the required books and study material for NEET preparation. Keep NCERT textbooks as priority. Start from the basics. Thoroughly read your NCERTs, all the texts, diagrams, captions, summary, points to ponder, tables.
- Break down the topic into several parts and learn one by one. Visualize things. Draw diagrams. Translate the complicated words into plain simple language for better understanding and learning.
- Have a good theoretical knowledge of everything. The advantage of reading theory of all the topics is whenever you see a question, you will have a fair idea about what topic the question revolves around and what are the probable concepts which you can use to solve that question.
- Never satisfied by just solving the question and finding the right answer. See if there are better ways or methods to reach the solution in a shorter time.
- If you are not able to understand the topic after multiple efforts, ask someone who knows the topic, like your teacher or a NEET subject expert (https://mystudycart.com/about-us/academic-team) . It’s way more efficient to ask for help so that you can move forward quicker. Saves a lot of time and stress.
- Give tests according to the NEET exam pattern to assess your learning and performance. Start with time bound chapter-wise tests, then part tests of multiple chapters, and at last full paper tests after completing the syllabus.
- Analyse your performance in tests. Make a note of the mistakes and rectify them before attempting the next test.
- Avoid spending excessive time on social media be it Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter or Instagram. Get rid of all such unproductive things from your life for the sake of getting into a top medical college.
- Never feel depressed if you are unable to solve questions of a specific topic or a subject. Put your efforts and hard work to understand the theory and again solve the problems.
- Keep revising what you are studying. It takes long to learn something for the first time but it doesn’t take much time to revise it every now and then. Make short notes of every chapter for quick revision.
- Sleep well and eat your meals on time. It will help you in concentrating more on your studies, revision and exam preparation.
While you are studying you should have proper knowledge about two things which concept is important and which book will be best for that concept you can too go for the subject wise study:
Physics
- Start reading from the NCERT textbook of Physics to learn basics and then refer to NEET coaching modules or a book like HC Verma.
- Absolute clarity in Physics comes from practice. Solve lots of questions. Start from easy questions then go higher up.
- Practice conceptual problems. Take up problems that relate theoretical Physics to daily life. Your analytical skills will be tested in solving the questions.
- Be careful about the signs (-ve and +ve) and units while solving Physics problems. Strictly avoid calculation mistakes.
Chemistry
- Chemistry concepts build on understanding units, conversion, and how atoms and molecules interact. Focus on understanding the fundamental concepts, then it will be easier to memorize other stuff.
- Organic Chemistry requires deep understanding and extra reading. Read NCERT carefully first. Understand the mechanism and exceptions. Some are named reactions. Practice them all.
- In Physical Chemistry, read a chapter from NCERT, class notes, coaching package. After you are done with the chapter, write down all equations from the chapter in a notebook for speedy reference while solving problems. Solve questions to see how strong your concept is.
- Complete NCERT thoroughly and you’ll get your basic footing in Inorganic Chemistry. Make precise notes for each chapter
Biology
- The backbone of Biology is the NCERT textbook. Go through it thoroughly and make a habit to study this book everyday. Keep an eagle eye over diagrams, data, contribution of scientists along with the years mentioned, examples given in the book. Learn everything in the NCERT book.
- Whenever you read a Biology topic from a book or coaching module, write down in your notebook important information like vocabulary, terminology, processes, diagrams, concept summary and explanations. Writing things down helps in understanding better and you can remember the basics for a longer period of time.
- Although NCERT Biology is the best recommended book for NEET, you still need to read coaching modules for extra stuff which has been asked in NEET exam last few days.
thank you!
will i get a job after completing my PhD in environmental sociology from sunrise University Alwar Rajasthan at the age of 48 with absolutely no teaching experience but having cleared NET
Dear aspirant,
A PhD, or Doctor of Philosophy, is a degree that is highly respected both in India and outside. If you have a PhD, you will be referred to as a doctor by your name because you have completed research on your field of study and are now the authority on it.

All the best.
Like if we want to get admission in engineering college weve to clear JEE. But if we want to join quantum mechanics college, what entrance exam weve to clear? Is it UGC - NET?
The NTA UGC NET exam is a nationwide test used to assess a candidate's suitability for either Assistant Professor or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor positions in Indian universities and colleges.
Candidates may apply for the UGC NET if they have earned a Master's degree or its equivalent in Humanities (including languages), Social Sciences, Computer Science and Applications, Electronic Science, etc. from a recognised university with a minimum grade point average of 55%.
However, based on your request, I believe you are seeking for a bachelor's degree. In that case, you must take a standard engineering entrance exam, such as the State Jee or the Jee mains, and then select universities based on your preferences during counselling.
