Engineering college cut off rank

SEJAL JAIN 24th Jul, 2025

Engineering college cut-off ranks refer to the minimum rank required to secure admission into a particular college and branch, and they vary each year based on factors like the number of applicants, seat availability, reservation category, and exam difficulty.

Top colleges like IITs, NITs, IIITs, and state government colleges usually have lower cut-off ranks (i.e., higher competition), while private or lesser-known colleges may have higher cut-offs. Cut-offs also differ for branches—Computer Science and Electronics often close earlier than civil or mechanical.

Hello Student
Both of the college has a healthy enviornment for education .Both of the college has good campus life. There is a mixture of study and fest which enables the student to cope up with their goal.of life and made them a versatile quality of man in their future life. But in one thing there is difference in respect of placement. In Bangalore institute of Technology the placement is 90%.The average salary of BIT student get 6.56lacs of rupees. And highest salary they get 15 lacs of rupees per annum. But the placement situation in New Horizon college of Engineering is not so hopeful. So in my view the Bangalore Institute of Technology is better than the New Horizon college of Engineering.

my kcet rank is 8722 can I get cse branch in new horizon college???

Anurag Khanna 1st Aug, 2022

Hello Aspirant,

It is quite difficult to make any accurate prediction of your admission chances for any particular campus or branch because the cut-offs keep on changing every year depending upon various factors such as :-

*** number of candidates appeared in KCET 2022

*** difficulty level of the paper

*** top score for KCET 2022

*** total number of seats available for admission and so on

However on the basis of previous year's cut-off you have GOOD chances to get CSE branch in New Horizon College of Engineering Bangalore because last year the closing rank in Round 1st was 9569 for CSE branch .

You can check out previous year's cut-offs from the link given below :-

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/kcet-cutoff

Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of previous year's cut-off and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

Which college is better nitte meenakshi vs New horizon college of engineering???

dhanshree1501 23rd Jul, 2022

Hello Aspirant,

I hope you are doing well.

In terms of placements, both colleges are excellent.

The typical placement fee at New Horizon College of Engineering is Rs. 3.6 lakh.

In the Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, postings typically range from 4 to 5 lakh rupees.

Bangalore, Karnataka's Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT) is an independent engineering school. The institution was founded in 2001 and is recognised by the AICTE, New Delhi. There are several reputable employers, such nutanix (18 lpa), dell (8 lpa), accolite (8 lpa), unisys (6.5 lpa), and mass hiring firms like TCS, Wipro, and Infosys, who offer compensation packages between 3.6 and 5 lpa. Every year, the campus is visited by more than 40 companies. A minimum placement of 80% and a maximum placement of 100% are possible in CSE. The placements are acceptable enough.

Bangalore is home to the independent New Horizon College of Engineering (NHCE). It was started in 2001, and Visvesvaraya Technological University is connected to it (VTU). The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has granted the College approval, and the NAAC has awarded the institution a Grade "A" accreditation.

Many businesses are visiting the school to recruit students, including TCE, WIPRO, IQVIA, INFOSYS, COGNIZANT, INTEL, and Phonepe. The highest income provided was around 20 LPA in the year 2020, and the average pay in the computer science branch is between 4 and 5 LPA. The highest percentage of students from the computer science branch get placed in college.

Consequently, in light of the location and NIRF ranking

I hope this helps.

Good Luck

bmsce and nhce which is better for cse branch

Abhishek Raykar 10th Jul, 2022

Hello Shatabdee,

Hope you are doing well.

I will list down for you some points on the basis of which you can decide whether to opt out for BMSCE or NHCE for CSE.

BMSCE (autonomous)

  • Fees - around 2 lakhs
  • Facilities - good hostel facilities, a cafeteria, a ground, and an indoor stadium for sports, Wifi
  • Highest package offered is around 45-50 LPA and average package is 8-9 LPA.
  • Highly qualified teachers.
  • Company visits - TCS, IBM, Accenture, Cognizant, Infosys, Wipro, Seagate, Deloitte, etc.

NHCE (Autonomous)

  • Total fees - around 10 lakhs
  • Company visits -  Intel, Cognizant, Infosys, Amazon, Zenken
  • Highest package around 18-19 LPA, average package around 5-6 lakhs

percentage of placed students and average package offered is high for BMSCE. so, in my opinion BMSCE is better for CSE than NHCE.

new horizon college of engineering and nitte meenakshi institute of technology. which is better for cse

Sayan 9th Jul, 2022

Hello,

New Horizon College of Engineering is better for CSE.

The "NHCE" faculty offers strong educational content or resources.

Compared to other engineering branches at New Horizon College, CSE placement is by far the best. For placements, several firms come to campus. The student is given access to the placement drive in this case up to a year after graduation. Many core and non-core BPO organisations come here to hire new employees. The chosen candidates are also offered a decent package. Some of them are also subject to a 2- or 3-year bond.
