Once converted to NRI Quota, can anyone apply in general quota in Neet UG counselling
Hello aspirant.
The Medical Council had recently released a notice asking candidates to apply for the change of category from Indian to NRI. The closing date is 2nd January 2022 till 10 AM. However, once converted into NRI, the candidate cannot apply as a general category in any colleges for MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, Bvsc course, whatsoever. The fee charged from the student will also be according to the NRI category, which is usually high when compared to other categories, generally ranging from 23 lakh to 30 lakh per annum.
Hope it helps!

what is maharashtras 15% institutional quota for neet ug?is it NRI quota? how is it different from 85 %state quota ? is price of institutional quota higher than private seat too?
Hello!
In Maharashtra, 15 % of medical seats in government medical institutions are designated for All India quota, while the rest 85 % are reserved for Maharashtra state quota.
For medical schools that are privately owned. 15 % of medical seats are designated for NRI quota applicants, 35 % are reserved for Institution Quota candidates, and the remaining 50 % are reserved for Maharashtra state quota candidates.
The cost of Institutional quota seats is less than the seats acquired by Management quota.

if we get seat under nri quota at the certificate if they mention this student get seat under nri or that certificate is normal like all
Hi,
As per the Supreme Court order, the eligibility criteria for NRI seat aspirants are: One of the parents of the student should be an NRI and shall ordinarily be residing abroad as an NRI. The person who sponsors the student should be a first-degree relation and should be residing abroad as an NRI.
Candidates must belong to the categories - Indian Citizens, NRI ( Non-Resident Indian), Person of Indian Origin (PIO), Overseas Citizen of India (OCI). They should belong to Andhra Pradesh / Telangana (directly or indirectly).
An NRI can only apply under NRI Category and not under General Cateogry. The Categories like General Category, EWS, OBC,SC,ST are confined to Indian Nationals appearing for NEET based on the constitutional .
In the NRI quota, the average annual tuition fee is roughly Rs 25 lakh per annum. For the management quota, the average fees are around Rs 11 lakh though it varies from Rs 4 lakh in private colleges in West Bengal, which is uncommon, to Rs 18 lakh to Rs 20 lakh in states like Karnataka and Rajasthan.
Hope this helps
Wish you luck

An NRI student, or whose parents are NRIs, or NRI sponsored where anyone in blood relation (first degree), are eligible for NRI quota in medical colleges subject to rules and regulations framed by the respective State Governments, Institutions and the Government of India.

The sentiment of NRI Students wanting to return and study in their own country is valued and many private institutes provide the NRI Quota for deserving candidates.
